Street Law: A Course In Practical Law, August 9, 2000
This books gives a great overview of law related education. Students are introduced to legal issues in the context of real life. It contains practical information for dealing with various legal problems. Students learn how to write to a member of Congress. This book has a section that allows students to consider and decide the outcome of legal situations. They learn variations in local law and prodedures that focus attention on where the student lives. Over all I would suggest this book as a great training tool for the law related class study.

Useful, Practical, Readable, October 16, 2010

We use this valuable book in our high school law class. The book is readable, compact and sensible. It also includes many brief case studies on law and ethics, with many challenging follow-up questions that often inspire in-class debates between students (something that always spices up a class). The book divides nicely between human rights, the Bill of Rights, law enforcement, pre-trial and trial procedures, etc. There is also solid coverage of many parts on civil law, including lawsuits, family law, consumerism, etc. Perhaps most importantly, many students like the book - at least more or less, given that it's a textbook. I do wish they'd add a section on early/ancient foundations of law, including Hammurabi, the Bible, Ancient Greece, English common law, etc. Still, this is a practical, readable look at law in the USA.
