About the Author

Lisa Barretta is an artist, psychic reader, and certified Reiki practitioner. She practices as an intuitive counselor, certified Reiki practitioner, and researcher in the fields of consciousness and psychic sensing. She also gives you a peek into what it is like to be the psychic reader on the other side of the tarot cards, crystal ball, and tea leaves.

Lisa Barreta's new book The Street Smart Psychic's guide is awesome. So far, I've already read the first few chapters - it's moving and Lisa is very funny, in a "street smart" way. I've had skepticisms about psychic phenomenon, but her writing style is so compelling and fluid that as a reader I was instantly drawn in. It's wildly imaginative and is generally just so entertaining reading about the characters seeking psychic support, and how to get my own without setting my wallet on fire. The book is down to earth, thorough, honest, and highly informed. This is not a "Cleo" book, it's the real deal. I think in our current climate of linear thinking predomination in American culture, the world needs a book that opens pathways for people to indulge in the oft-ignored world of abstraction and intuition. Cheers!

I received this as a gift from a friend. I don't get readings done. No particular reason, I just don't (well, let's say "haven't" for many, many years). That being said, I think even if you're like me, you may enjoy the "behind the scenes" info about what goes on during a reading.

They say you can always tell a Philly girl because she pulls no punches when she's talking to you. That's exactly the way I felt reading this book. For the novice who's never gotten a reading to the "seasoned pro" who's been getting them for years, I think just about everyone can enjoy and learn something from this book.

It's funny, personal and very down to earth. By the end of the book you feel as if you've met the author for coffee and had a good chat (and a chuckle or two!).
