5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!
It doesn't matter what your engine building abilities are, the info in this book is extremely valuable. Now I want to get even more books just to learn the inside tips and tricks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
This book did teach me a FEW things about blowers, HOWEVER it spends way to much time explaining the different types of blowers (and even a whole chapter on paxton type turbos). If you are installing a 6-71 blower like I am, and want a book that tells you number by number how to install it, this is NOT the book to buy. It doesn't contain any torque specifications for the...

It doesn't contain any torque specifications for the blower, blower intake or any information of that sort. If you want to learn the history of blowers, types of blowers, and allot of advanced math solutions to blower setup, get this book. If you want to install a blower step by step, get some other book!

Lots of words, little solid advice. I recommend you don't spend your money on this book. Lots of theory, lots of history, plenty of pictures but no practical knowledge imparted to the reader. I seriously doubt the author, Pat Ganahl, knows the difference between a combination wrench and a rachet. He does not include any information on Boost-Referenced carbs. And he waffles on whether or not to o-ring the heads/block. He seems to have talked to a lot of people, and never bolted on a blower himself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book, nearly perfect, February 8, 2008

This review is from: Street Supercharging: DIY Guide to Street Supercharging, How to Install and Tune Blowers (S-A Design) (Paperback)
I wish I had bought this book before buying my 6-71 on Ebay! Overall excellent book, much MUCH more information than can be found anywhere else on roots type blowers. Lots of history on strange blowers that helps you identify swap meet items if that's what interests you. Best part is overhaul procedure for roots blower is gone through in detail, something I've been unable to find elsewhere. Be warned, the author tells you NOT to rebuild your own blower or piece together a system, just to buy a complete system from Dyers etc. Somewhat frustrating to the hobbyist DIY'ers looking to save a few bucks, but probably sound judgement. Worth the price of admission x2 easily...

This was a gift for a friend who owns a race car, he loved the gift. It arrived in a timely fashion with it's own tissue paper, in excellent condition.

This review is from: Street Supercharging: DIY Guide to Street Supercharging, How to Install and Tune Blowers (S-A Design) (Paperback)
Good reference book that covers a lot of technical aspects of supercharging and turbocharging. I recommend this book to anyone interested in this area of automotive performance engine building.
