Brilliant - takes you right to Dakar,
By A Customer
This review is from: Streets of Dakar (Audio CD)
This disc contains some of the hottest mbalax around - which makes it some of the best dance music, period. These young Senegalese artsits have recorded truly irresistible music. One of the gems on the album is Bada Seck's "Nguewel," sung in a style called taassou - traditional Senegalese rap. Once you hear it, you'll understand why the Senegalese have taken to hip-hip so well, and why hip-hop sounds so perfect in Wolof.
