Book Description

June 5, 2009
The release of Streets of Fire could not be better timed; we need his story now! If you are COP (i.e., Constable on Patrol) Bob understands you. If you like intrigue, grit, excitement and nail biting action, read on! If you are a father, Bob's a great example: his three sons prove that. If you are a young person looking for a roll-model, Bob's book is for you. If you are a hooker being controlled by your pimp, or an addiction, please read on. If you are a College student looking for a quick and exciting read, this is it! Or, if you are simply tired of insipid books that don't carry much weight nor deliver much punch, and you are looking for a book that delivers entertainment, counsel, intrigue, suspense, and-the occasional shock factor--then this book is for you!

Editorial Reviews

Review

Bob  quickly established himself  as a top producing police officer and a  committed Christian.  When a rooky, Bob won the OPD highest honor, The Medal of Valor.

--Sheriff of Sutter County Art Brandwood, Director  Peace Officer Memorial Foundation

From the Author

I was requested to write this book even while I was actively a policeman in Oakland, California.  The speech writer for The Governor of Oregon once asked to write my story, but I assured him, "If it will be written, I will do it".   And I wanted to wait until I retired, because everyday, while still an active officer, I experienced new stories out on the streets of Oakland to write about.

This book shows how, when we put our trust in God, He will be present to do amazing things.  I have written each chapter to "stand alone," each chapter being a different crime or event that occurred while I was at work on the streets.

More About the Author

The first part of my education and life was in the
aviation industry. When I came back from the Vietnam
War I was employed by Lockheed Aircraft Co. in
Burbank, California. After giving my life to the Lord one
night, after watching a Billy Graham crusade on TV, God
started changing my interest and desire for employment.
I started noticing police in the Los Angeles area
fighting crime and thought it was interesting, but I had
told myself that I wouldn't wear another gun after getting
out of Vietnam. The dilemma was solved one day when I
was reading my Bible and noticed Romans 13 where it
said police were "ministers of God". The rest is history,
and many of my encounters where God helped me as a
policeman are discussed in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars fascinating and faith-building, April 30, 2010
This review is from: Streets of Fire (Paperback)
I enjoyed Bob's book and read it in a sitting. It is encouraging to know there are men and women in law-enforcement who have a heart like he does. It was stirring to think of the God going before us in difficult and dangerous situations and guiding us. I would recommend the book.

4.0 out of 5 stars too short. I lived it, and loved the war stories, as we called them., March 10, 2010

I knew Bob then and still. He was a good cop, and a great Christian. I only wish I knew then, what I know now about God.

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT READ!!, November 12, 2009
This review is from: Streets of Fire (Paperback)
This is ONE COOL BOOK!

Full of life! Fun- but edgy, with a hint of intrigue and danger thrown in for good measure. This is one of those real to life stories that you don't want to miss.

After reading through it speedily and with much enjoyment, I had to share it around to all my friends too. ;) These cop tales just pull you along, and that's for real.
