When I first discovered this 3 book series on amazon I was so excited but I
became somewhat disappointed after I started reading volume 1.The 4 authors
that wrote the first book are all very talented but this was not there best
work.The book has a good start giving the reader the impression that they are
in for a hell of a ride but you quickly realize that's not the case once you
get into this book.The plot is weak & below average,4 thugs raise hell in the
streets making that paper & have dreams of becoming hood rich,nothing new
there.Character developement was very bad,you get a brief description of how
the 4 main characters came to be & how they came together early on in the
book.There are no chapters in this book,it's broken up into paragraphs that
are all separated by images of things you will see in New York.Since I'm also
from NY I expected more from this book because it takes place in my home town.
I can only give this book 3 out 5 stars,there is much room for improvement,I
hope the 4 authors get there acts together & give the reader a better story
in volume 2,only time will tell.Something else that got on my last nerve about
this book was the over usage of the word "broad" when refering to the females,
the word was used so much all throughout the book,I felt like I was back in
the 1940's during WW2.Lets not forget the extreme over usage of the "N" word
which was used on just about every page,talk about over kill.

Meet Pooh,Promise, Show and Squeeze are not only brothers from other mothers,they are stick up kids who are good at what they do.
Pooh, the youngest of the 4 has a talent for writing that comes along with a short temper and quick trigger finger...he reacts now and thinks later...his quick temper and greed causes the group a lot of pain and trouble.
Promise, just received custody of his daughter is the level headed one of the group and is caught up in trying to change his life to do right by his daughter or be there for his boys...'one last caper for the love of my boys and I'm out'...so he thought...most life changing decision he made.
Show is the muscle of the them...brutal and mean but he still has compassion when it came to his boys...down for anything at anytime...holla and he's there.
Squeeze is the leader,shot caller the not so smart, smart one...his decision changes the lives of all of them and others around them forever...oh, did I mention he's a snake.
This book introduces you to them and the havoc they cause on The Streets of New York. Betrayal,murder and war,this is a New York you know exists but they try to keep it under wraps.Enough grit to keep you reading.
