5.0 out of 5 stars STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO - GREAT SERIES! April 6, 2012
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
What a pleasure that we are now being treated to two more volumes that will make up Season three of THE STREETS OF SAN FRANCISCO, starring Karl Maldon as "Detective Lt. Mike Stone" and (a very young) Michael Douglas as "Inspector Steve Keller".

The special guest stars for this volume (2) will include:

Anthony Zerbe, Vic Morrow, Anthony Geary, Robert Webber, Sam Jaffe, Malachi Throne, Peter Strauss, William Windom, Lou Krugman, Pat Conway, Richard Lawson, Darlene Carr, Paul Mantee, Mark Wheeler, William Smithers, Sharon Acker, Dean Stockwell, Dee Wallace, Peter Haskell, Kim Richards, Stephen Manley, James Olson, Belinda Montgomery, Michael Anderson Jr., Tony Lo Bianco and more!

The episodes for this volume (2) is as follows:

1. THE TWENTY-FIVE CALIPER PLAGUE - There are multiple people affected by a single slug.
2. MISTER NOBODY - A man protects a killer - the grandson of his best friend.
3. FALSE WITNESS - A hispanic officer wages a personal war against a local drug kingpin.
4. LETTERS FROM THE GRAVE - The skeleton of a supposedly-escaped prisoner from Alcatraz is unearthed.
5. ENDGAME - Steve is injured and Mike gets demoted for going after the gangster responsible.
6. TEN DOLLAR MURDER - A policewoman's son robs taxicabs - and it leads to an undercover cop's killing.
7. THE PROGRAMMING OF CHARLIE BLAKE - A rape-murder investigation is stymied by a psychiatrist.
8. RIVER OF FEAR - A twelve-year-old girl sets out to prove that her stepfather killed her mother.
9. ASYLUM - Keller must investigate a mental hospital where patients are being murdered.
10. LABYRINTH - A boxer fights back against a mob hitman.
11. SOLITAIRE - Steve is shot, and mike is teamed with a narc investigating a murderous drug ring - a narc who may be in on the ring.

As the seasons progressed, we see Michael Douglas's character (with a type of father/son relationship to his superiour Karl Malden) grow from a rookie cop who lacks some measure of confidence, to a full fledged confident police officer respected by the same. (According to Wikipedia, "By all accounts Malden and Douglas developed a strong personal and professional relationship from their time on the series. Twenty years after last working together they were both on stage at the 1996 PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS. Malden referred to Douglas as "the son I never had".) The strong scripting and chemistry between these two gentlemen was what made this series a classic and thoroughly enjoyable!

Closed Captioning is included for the hearing impaired.
