Working Class(ic) Punk Rock,
By 77Jim (Philadelphia PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Streets of San Francisco (Audio CD)
Classic album... originally released on New Red Archives records circa 1994. Buy it now. It was unfairly overlooked in the mid' 90's heyday and it's as fantastic today as it was back then. A punk classic that dulls the varnish off the Rancid, Dropkicks records you thought were invincibile.
Flipside had handed down some serious praise upon this bay-area bunch of lads in the beginning (which was RARE). There is working class, DIY pride on this album too... recorded on weekends and self financed from what I had read. Five guys into Stiff Little Fingers, UK Subs and Minutemen records, cranking out tunes for the love of it. Truth be told bands were not so ridiculously obsessed with worshipping the Clash at this time. My point being the Utters' sound was mildly fresh and rejuvenating on the ears circa 1995... it was a good time for music and this album was an all too brief hotspot along the way.

All the Rage of San Francisco,
By Allen97 (Manhattan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Streets of San Francisco (Audio CD)
Angry, passionate and beautiful: there isn't a bad song on this whole album. Put it in your walkman and walk from Houston to 42nd street without noticing. It's a shame it's not more readily available.
