Streetwise Athens Map - Laminated City Center Street Map of Athens, Greece - Folding pocket size travel map with metro map

This map is typical of the "Streetwise" series: Easily folded , LAMINATED (which makes it easy to write on, and keeps the map from falling apart when wet), and with handy stuff like metro stops, hotels. All landmarks the tourist needs to navigate around the town. The Athens one concentrates, naturally on the area around the Parthenon; the rest of Athens is on the other side. However, a new edition is certainly warranted as the metro now extends out to the airport, and the important hub of Syntagma Square isn't listed, and some Lat/Long lines would be great for us GPS-geeks.
Overall worth taking with you.

When you review the specifications of this map you see 8 papes what you are not told is when you unfold the entire map it only measures 8 1/2 by 32 inches.
it only covers " downtown Athens " I was looking for a resturant in the outskirts of Athens hopeing I could find it in this map.

I purchased a map in Athens a few years ago which is more complete.

I wouldn't recommend this map to anyone.

I also purchased a Michelin road map to Greece and it was just as I expected very detailed map

Streetwise maps are the ones I use for travel both domestic and international. I think they are great, convenient to carry, precise and easy to use. Athens has changed a great deal since the last version had come out so the newly revised map is most welcome. I will certainly be bringing mine along when I revisit Athens next year.

The handy litte map was exactly what we needed in the urban center of Athens. It was clear to read, and fit right in my pocket as we walked around. With the subway information it made it so simple to get started underway to any city goal.

Comforting to know I had a good map in my pocket before I arrived!
Can't tell you how many times I have arrived in a big city and you are at the mercy of the airport info desk, train station or a visitor's booth to not only be open, but to actually stock a good map. Too many times I have been out of luck and try to piece may way around as best I can. I was able to figure out how to get around and where I wanted to go without emptying my pockets on a cab driver either. Great map! Glad I had it.

This handy little map has all the details needed to enjoy the tourist attractions of Athens, while being sturdy and easily transported in your daypack, or even a deep pocket. GREAT to travel with!

All the Streetwise maps are the best tool when traveling. I have even purchased ones for cities that are on list of future travel plans. The Athens map had everything I could ever want to experience. The Metro stops are clearly identified and it made for very easy navigation around the city.

While this review is on the Athens map, these maps are excelalnt. Great quailty. They fold easily and can fit in you back pocket and they will take a beating. Don't have to worry about a little mositure as they are plastic covered. The maps are printed on both sides with a close up of a particular section of town. We have several of these maps in our travel guide section at home.

This was a useful (and durable) tool for walking the streets of Athens. Packed easily into my day pack and it saw a lot of use! The laminate is "heavy duty" and this map folds easily into its' original "shape." If you are planning a trip to Athens, I recommend this map as well as the "Frommer's Day to Day" guide for Athens, Greece.

And, if you are thinking of a trip to Athens, wait until the unrest cools a bit and then go take it in. GREAT food and friendly people. Lodging can be a bit pricey, but food is very reasonable (and you will want a lot of it!) and it is a city where most sights are accessible on foot. You'll not regret a visit to Greece.

These little maps are really great when you're in a foreign city walking around! Very sturdy and easy to read.
