In engineering we learn that when you optimize for one feature
you sometimes have to give up other features, or scale them
back. Perhaps this is the issue with this map.

The Streetwise map of Barcelona is designed so that it will
easily fit in your pocket or purse. It is plastic or plasticized
paper, so it is sturdy. But what is lost is detail. For example,
the street in the Ravel where I will be renting an apartment is
not shown on the map.

The map does show the subway and bus routes which is nice too.
But if you need detail, you need another map. I highly
recommend the Rough Guide maps. They are detailed and
very tough. My survived daily use for two weeks.

Convenient map for navigating Barcelona on foot. I particularly liked the included metro map. It was a little inconvenient that the map didn't extend a little bit to the northwest--had a little trouble finding the Parc Guell. Fairly durable.

Overall, great map. Nice and durable, good lamination. The mini metro map was great, as well as notations of rail lines, funicular lines, etc. Index to the streets was well done and very appreciated. My one complaint is that the map did not actually cover all of Barcelona. I'm not talking about "metro Barcelona," the towns comprising the around the city limits (but yet not actually Barcelona). I'm talking about the actual outer circles of Barcelona proper; the map excluded them, which was a problem for me at times.

Great map of Barcelona. Folds up and fits in your back pocket or a jacket pocket. Very durable laminated finish. Easy to read.

Great value. You can't go wrong!

This map is an excellent resource for tourists who prefer independent travel in Barcelona. My wife and I used this map exclusively while touring Barcelona and it was well marked with all major attractions as well as having a complete listing of all street names and places of interest. Well worth the price.

I recently ordered a map of Barcelona. I am very happy with my purchase, as it is as described and of a very good quality.

While many guide books have a "free" small paper map in back, buy the larger and more detailed and laminated Streetwise map. I took it every day and it was the map we referred to. While it is too large to easily fit in a pocket all day, I carried a small backpack (and was of course careful of pickpockets) with jacket, camera, etc. and it fit fine in an outside pocket and was quickly available.

Spent 5 days in Barcelona in a wonderful apartment in Barri Gottic...this map was indespensible. Very sturdy,easy to read,lightweight,easy to store in backpack pocket. Perfect size print and useful key.

This map is generally useful and the plastic format is very convenient, but although this site says the map is c. 2001, the map I got was a 1996 version, and therefore missing some significant developments since then, e.g., the Raval Rambla.

This map is okay, but not great. If you're only going to be in the main tourist areas of Barcelona, this will be helpful, but the entire city is NOT shown. We stayed in "new" Barcelona on the east side of town, which does not appear on this map. The free map offered at our hotel were much better and more detailed. If I had to do it over again, I would not have bought this.
