To the user whose StreetWise map didn't show the Chrysler Building: You'll be pleased to know that the Chrysler has been added to the latest addition!

I've been using this map since it first came out, and have given away more copies than I can count. I keep a map in each of two briefcases and one in my backpack. I use it several times a month to plot subway routes or to get my bearings in an unfamiliar neighborhood.

I've lived in NYC for thirty-six years, and this is the map I couldn't do without. Great product.

This map has been a godsend to me. Not only does it list popular sites, but it manages to fit the entire island of Manhattan on it. It's great for me, since I go all over the city and definitely need the uptown bits that generally get cut off. Also, having a bus map has turned out to be indispensable more than once. The only thing I could do with is a full subway map. While it does list the stops, it's very hard to see how they all connect and thus plan a trip via subway. But overall, this has been the best pocket map I've found of Manhattan.

I picked this map up on my second day in NYC because it is small (essentially a piece of paper folded in half), lamenated, and had the subway stops/connections along with the streets. Wow, was it worth the money! I walked/took the subway over 4 days and hit every neighborhood all because of the ease of this map. "Study" it while on the train so you are prepared at your next stop. This map along with a multiday subway pass is all you need to have freedom to explore NYC with confidence and speed!

I have Streetwise maps for cities all over the world and they have gotten me easily and accurately to where I want to go in cities from New York to Atlanta, Rome to Budapest. They fold open and closed so easily, and I've had my NYC map for more than a decade and it's only slightly creased around the edges. I only have to buy a new one because the MTA changed the subway.
I love them so much I even have one for the city I live in!

My son and I used this map on our recent (and first) trip to NYC and it was very helpful. Especially useful was the integrated subway map which allowed us to quickly and easily find a way from wherever we were to wherever we wanted to be. It easily fit in a back pocket so we took it everywhere and used it often. Because it was laminated it stayed in great shape, even in the rain.

I just purchased this map for friends who are visiting from Canada. I first found out about Streetwise Manhattan when I was an NYPD Field Training Officer back in the the 1980's. The Association for a Better New York, then under the direction of former NYC Mayor John Lindsey, gave us cases of maps to issue to new police officers assigned NSU-3 in Mid-town Manhattan. With Streetwise Maps our Officers were able to give specific directions to visitors and residents on where a place was and how to get there. It does not give a description of a place just the location and how to get there in an easy to read format. The map was folded and ringed to exactly fit in the NYPD issued memo book holders. The NYPD copies did include some specific information not listed on the regular copies back then. I myself used the map to give countless directions to people and other Officers when I was assigned to the area around the United Nations. I also frequently gave away my copies to visitors when they asked me. When my son and sister were appointed to the NYPD and assigned to Manhattan I gave them copies. My father use to give copies to co-workers visiting his New York office, so they could explore on their own. One of his business associates was staying at a hotel on Central Park South at 5th Ave. and looking for Central Park and FAO Schwartz on the corner of E59th St and 5th Ave. The map let him know that he was there. Central Park South is also called W 59th St. Avenue of the America's is also called 6th Ave and Lexington Ave 4th Ave by locals. I do find it odd that with all the copies I gave away I now have to purchase a copy. If your coming to experience New York, and everyone needs to visit and enjoy the energy, arts, shopping, museums, and everything else that is New York at least once, you need a copy of this map and an MTA card for the buses and subways to get around. And yes the subways in Manhattan are safe, fairly clean, and the best way to get around.

This map helps my family and I through Manhattan. We stayed a week and I was able to use this map to get from Grand Central all the way to the Bronx ZOO. THe map is durable and very easy to read. DOn't go to NYC without it.

my boyfriend and I recently spent 6 days in New York and we used this map every single day! we took the map with us so we knew which subways to take to get us where we wanted to go and all of the major tourist sites are printed on the map already. We were even able to use it to give someone directions. If you have plans to visit New York then this map is a must! We took a couple other maps and never opened them.

As usual I'm more than pleased with the Streetwise maps! Going to NYC for a 3rd time I found the map very helpful and accurate. My boyfriend's GPS on his android phone didn't even match up---we were going in circles for what seemed like hours. He eventually gave up and told me to pull out the Streetwise map. We made it to our destination in minutes! It pays to know how to read a map!

I just spent a weekend in Manhattan, and this map unfailingly took me every place I wanted to go! It is the perfect size for the average handbag. The print is readable and clear; the layout is great. In the hotel room, I perused my guidebook, but this was the only map I used or needed to navigate the city with my husband and kids.
