Have used these Streetwise maps for various locations and found them easy to read and carry, fit right in your pocket. This particular one we did not use as much as others as we were not in Naples but for taking the train! Had one for Florence and it was great, highly recommend.

This is a great little map. It shows the street where the famous daMichele Pizza is located (Via de C. Sercele) which other maps did not show. And it shows the funicular stations. It does not show Metro stops, however, the National Geographic Naples book has that.

I bought this for a couple days in Naples. I realized on the 2nd day that this map/guide would be useless after I picked up a free city map from the tourist office at the Stazione Centrale. The free map proved more detailed and useful regarding public transportation, and it really wasn't any bulkier than the Streetwise.

Even if I hadn't ended up using the free map, this guide splits the city inconveniently, which had me switching constantly from one side of the map to the other. I suppose the map had to be split somehow, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. I spend more time trying to relocate myself on the map than exploring the city.

Bottom line: I learned from Naples & Rome that you don't have to buy a map or guide ahead of time unless you really have the urge to plot out every inch of your trip ahead of time. Instead, visit the local tourist office and grab a free guide. Better yet, grab a detailed city map & bus schedule for a few Euros at a newsstand. You'll never be lost.

I have used these for every major city where I travel, when they are available! I have used them in London, Madrid, Barcelona and many other cities. They are extremely accurate and show almost all major and minor sites!

I get them well in advance of trips and mark the sites that I want to see. That way you can visually se what sites are in the same area.

I just returned from 5 days in Naples (05/2010). I prefer the Rough Guide Folding Maps but they do not have one for Naples. This map contains all of the streets in central Naples, but the way it is situated, half of the city (n.e.) is on one side and the other half (s.w.) is on the flip side, sometimes making things cumbersome. This map also highlights all of the major tourist sites. It is water-proof. It also has a nicely useable map of the Amalfi coast, which we used one day to take local buses to all of the various coastal towns. This was very useful. (To obtain presentation of the city all on one side, consider "Napoli (Naples) Town Plan (Michelin City Plan)" map - though this is not a pocket map.)

I have used these maps before and like them for a variety of reasons - they are virtually indestructible, very clear with plenty of information and they fold up quickly and easy to put away in your bag. There is nothing like having a big paper map clutched in your hand to lable you TOURIST.

I was really dissappointed with the map, it wasn't even regular map size, if it was they could have put the whole city on one side.
