Got two of these a few weeks ago. Beyond love this product! Super super loud. The pin pulls out (can be thrown if you are attacked and cannot be easily retieved by the attacker) Also used one to deter rats from the attic: put it on a stick and the flashing light and super loud sound (use ear protection - headphone type) and it is working very well. Putting it on random times for about 15 min. is effective. Non-toxic and totally annoying to critters with way better hearing that we have. The flashing light on this probably unnerves them as well. So: avoid attackers and send away rats, etc. LOVE THIS PRODUCT !!

Based on the sound level, no one will want to be on the same block if pulling the pin becomes necessary. Great way to feel secure. My wife loves it.

This is the best portable alarm I have tried, EXTREMELY LOUD, quick and easy to set up. I use it most often on doors, since it goes off IMMEDIATELY when the door is opened... Most whole house alarm systems have a delay, to allow entry of reset codes. Sometimes, I prefer the INSTANT warning this provides, and the knowledge that no one else has a "code" to disable it. I always use it when I travel, especially at vacation condos etc where property mgmt staff often just walk in.

It is SO PAINFULLY LOUD that I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED HAVING EARPLUGS in the package, for use while installing the battery and setting it up on my door. I've set it off accidently a few times and it deters ME from using it. It is an excellent product, but I would advise purchasers to buy earplugs too.

As another reviewer commented, I've used this to scare away intrusive wildlife that tried to nest in the attic. I held it to the ceiling at the location where we heard scratching... the critter tried to return once, but left quickly and permanently after it's second encounter with this noise.

First issue is that this thing is BIG. It is bigger than a pager, which means it is big enough that everyone thinks you are on some sort of police arrest. Which brings me to my second, but related issue, my daughter did not want to wear it in Egypt because it was HUGE!.

Other than that, it works perfectly.

these little deals were originally purchased for airsoft trip wires but i find more and more purposes for them daily they work great deafening LOUD and after couple months still original batteries,the little leaf switch can be placed on anything any kind of door just wedge it in and its protected, i put them on any door i may want to be alarmed about that may get opened and they are completely portable, so on a car, hotel room door, a cupboard anything, they also come with a small plug you can attach a string or thread to across any pathway to alarm if someone trips your thread this is how we used them in airsoft as "mines or tripwires" i love em id buy again best personal security device under 10 bux i bought 2 ;-) Adam

Its very reasonable price.

This alarm is heavy, which makes it cumbersome to use in a purse. We tried to use it on the door of a hotel room, but the gap between the frame and the door was too wide for the sensor and the alarm sounded even though the door was closed. I can say that the alarm is loud. The only ways to turn off the alarm are to either remove the batteries, which takes a screw driver, or to connect the sensor cord. Because the alarm seems so sensitive, I was uncomfortable leaving the batteries and sensor cord in place when going through airport security. It's cumbersome to use and travel with.

This is relly noise, and sounds whe someone open the door, or try to get your belongs in the park, amazing!!!

It's a screamer! Very loud. The sound is high pitched and pulsating. You just don't want to be around it when it sounds off. The light is small, so don't expect too much from the light. Buy it for the alarm.

I had a nice Phillips screw driver for this but one of the screws just would not
budge. You need to loosen two screws to get battery in place. Finally had to break it open to get inside. Very disappointed with the unfriendly way of replacing the battery
