Compact, the right information and durable
I've used the Streetwise maps for New York (Manhattan and Queens), Chicago, London and Dublin and I've found them extremely useful. One measure of how good they are is how unobtrusively they work their way into your trip. I have the "Streetwise Manhattan" map that I really like. I bought the "Streetwise Queens" map and was disappointed. First of all, it is not up to date as far as the subway routes go. I called costumer service (Streetwise)and my call was not returned. Also, it has one side of Queens on one side and another side of Queens on the opposite side. So,for the areas I need to...

I've used the Streetwise maps for New York (Manhattan and Queens), Chicago, London and Dublin and I've found them extremely useful. One measure of how good they are is how unobtrusively they work their way into your trip. The maps are compact (fit in an inside jacket pocket - good for hiding your tourist status!), contain all the right information (great overlay of subway and street information - in the New York case, probably better than their transit map) and extremely durable laminate (minimal wearing at the folds). Great map.

I have the "Streetwise Manhattan" map that I really like. I bought the "Streetwise Queens" map and was disappointed. First of all, it is not up to date as far as the subway routes go. I called costumer service (Streetwise)and my call was not returned. Also, it has one side of Queens on one side and another side of Queens on the opposite side. So,for the areas I need to see, I must keep flipping the map back and forth to figure out my directions.
I could highly recommend the "Streetwise Manhattan" map but NOT the "Queens" map. |
