Just for clarification, it's not the radio programmer's doing, India.Arie herself is the one saying "this is for the young brotha hustling" in the radio remix. She even ad-libs differently than in the original version. So this had nothing to do with the radio programmers trying to reach out to an urban audience, India knew what she was doing. Now remixing Dionne Farris and Des'ree songs for radio airplay is a different story. Five stars because all of these versions are good.

When will the industry learn to leave well enough alone? This was a perfect album track that, on it's own merits, would have been a hit, but once again, radio programmers felt the need to ruin an artist's work by making it more "commercially viable" to audiences and adding unneccessary hip hop beats and an even sillier "this is for the young brotha' hustlin'" monologue that's supposed to appeal to black listeners, bad move! I rated this 5 stars because the LP version is a flawless piece of music and should be released as a single, as is. Artistry should be respected and sophisticated listeners shouldn't be patronized and force-fed commercial garbage because radio programmers think it's best for us. We can think for ourselves, Thank You Very Much!
