2.0 out of 5 stars Not that Good
80's synth reggae people. There are only two albums worth buying by IV.

Same Song and Unconquered People

Save your money and don't allow yourselves to be convinced that this music is the real roots. Peace!

IV always is great for me. They may borrow a bit lyric-wise from Bob but they are always irie and always make me smile. These guys have been making records since they met in a polio rehab and had first success with Same Song which is also a must have. They are really great though and their vibes are always positive and their music is mellow and they have interestingly haunting voices. While some of their lyrics are reminisant of Bob, they bring an originality that is new and fresh, and a sound that is different than other Jamaican groups. I enjoy this album a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars my first I-Vibe album, August 8, 2005
This review is from: Strength of My Life (Audio CD)
...and still my favorite. I remember purchasing it when it first came out, never having heard a note of it. I was a devoted roots lover, and somehow knew the album wouldn't disappoint. It didn't. I savored every simple drop. Over and over and over.

Don't get me wrong: I love their other work. The dub is pure love, and I-Vibe is never to be missed live. It's an unbeatable experience. But soulful, heartical songs like "Don't Want Apartheid" and "Strength of My Life" sealed my devotion to this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars ....gives pay the piper a run for the money, April 30, 2003

reggae addicts;i have always thought that pay the piper was the best album by the group. i am having problems believing that it is, since picking up strength of my life. i definitely think that the group is much stronger with apple. his vocal quality definitely shines on this album. i especially like payday, don't want apartheid, and strength of my life. the entire album is great. if you like pay the piper, you'd definitley like this album(maybe even more).

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely!!!!, April 10, 2005
This review is from: Strength of My Life (Audio CD)
I love reggae, and I think this is one of my favorite albums of all time. It gets you in the island mood. I am giving this to my friends as a present, it's that crucial!
I cannot believe anyone could say anything negative about Strength of My Life. It is uplifting, spiritual, and every song is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get your smile on, December 6, 2008

Israel Vibration undoubtedly is one of the greatest harmony trios in the history of reggae music. Indeed, they are my favorite. Unfortunately, not too many people know about them. "Strength of my Life" was my first Israel Vibration CD and the one that I still like best. Every track is a winner and the CD as a whole is a gloriously mellow groove-you can't help but get a smile on your face while listening to it. Whenever anybody asks me to recommend a reggae CD--other than Bob Marley and the Wailers--this is the one I direct them to. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Israel Vibes are considered one of the best groups in my book. With the unique voice that Apple Gabriel brings to the group. I think that any of the Irael Vibes cds are worth getting.
Also check out Apple Gabriels solo album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality Roots Harmony, November 7, 2000

IV will no doubt go down as one of the top reggae trio's. This album is just one stone in the massive structure. This is the groups third CD and it was a comeback sort of. Their last album before that was in 1980. I dont know why they didnt record during this this time but I am glad they started again. This 1988 release put them back on top. The CD is has three songs by each member. The strongest tunes here are Apple's "Middle East" and Wiss's classic anthem "Cool and Calm". It doesnt stop there though every tune is strong.
