1994 was a bad year for music. Bands that had any talent were just plain boring and bands that rocked just sucked. I stumbled across Strenght In Numbers A couple months after graduating from High School and for the last 10 years it has stood the test of time.
All 12 songs are great, but the best of the bunch are Rescue Me, End of the Summer Days, Last Sunset, Meet Me in the Night (for personal reasons relating to the lyrics) and Write Your Name in the Sky. There are very few records that are good for about any time, place, activity or season, but this seems to be good anytime.
Now I took a chance on the CD 10 years ago and here I am writing about it today. Who knows, if you pick up this Tyketto cd maybe in 2014 you'll be writing the same review. The best part is that you'll never have to worry about it getting played out on the radio either

Of all the bands that were unjustly overlooked in the early 1990's, none deserved a greater share of recognition more than Tyketto. The band's debut album Don't Come Easy was an AOR/melodic rock masterpiece, embodying everything good about that style of music, and should have vaulted the band into the same arena as bands like Damn Yankees, Bad English, Firehouse, and Giant. Instead they went largely unnoticed.

Released in 1994, Strength in Numbers follows in the footsteps of Don't Come Easy, in that it is a very melodic, radio-friendly (at least it would have been a few years earlier) rock album. Releasing an album like this at a time when the music world had gone "alternative" took guts, and I salute Tyketto for doing so. Naturally the album wasn't a major success, but it still stands as one of the decade's better melodic rock albums. It's not quite as good as Don't Come Easy, but there are plenty of great songs. And of course Danny Vaughn sounds terrific. He's one of the best vocalists in the genre, and one of my favorite singers period.

This is Danny Vaughn's last album with the band, though there are a few more Vaughn-era tracks on the Take Out & Served Up Live CD, which is also worth checking out if you're a Tyketto fan.
