I went to get a haircut the other day and my hairstylist was like "what did you do to your hair? it's growing it's really long since a month ago"

I didn't notice much difference because I see my hair everyday but other people seem to notice, especially my hairstylist that I've been going to for the past 5 years.

About half a year ago, my hair was becoming weak and thinning out. I was very worried so I spent an entire month researching. Then I found this product.

Viviscal Extra Strength Hair Nutrient Tablets, 60-Tablets appears to be working well for me. Makes my hair stronger and longer. (I've been using it for 2 and half months now)

But I've been adding other lifestyle changes that might have accelerated the results even more:

I've been eating more healthy. More greens. The raw stuff, not processed in cans. The darker the green the better.

I've also been working out at least 4 times a week doing 2 days cardio and 2 days weight lifting. I bought 24 hour fitness membership at Costco for only $299 for 2 years. Pretty good deal.

I've stop using hair sprays all together. It's just really harsh on your scalp.

Other hair care products I am currently using in conjunction with Viviscal is Rogaine for Men Hair Regrowth Treatment, Easy-to-Use Foam, 2.11 Ounce, (3 month supply). For Rogaine, I prefer the foam over the liquid because it doesn't run and it also help style my hair to some degree. No need to styling gel or hairspray.

I am also using Pura d'or Hair Loss Prevention: Premium Organic Shampoo (16 fl. oz.). It has great ingredients such as fo ti (he shou wu), nettle extracts, biotin, saw palmetto, pumpkin seed oil, DHT blocker, etc. that helps with Hair Loss and makes your hair stronger. It is also free of SLS, parabens and mostly natural and organic ingredients.

Overall, I think thinning hair can be treated if you're willing to put the effort and the cash. Viviscal is one product I'll be buying again!

I found this product after reading a review of it on hairboutique.com. The length of my hair seemed to have reached a plateau just below my shoulders and after year seemed to have grown no longer. I decided to try this product to see if it worked. As hair growth is normally clocked at an 1/8 of an inch per month, I decided to monitor the results in my own little "clinical test." This was actually pretty easy because I colour my hair so I'd easily be able to see how much growth there was each month.

I ordered a box of Viviscal for which I paid $49 for (average price on the web) and the was set to take the first pill the following morning (the box recommends 2 per day). I coloured my hair the night before so that in one month I'd be able to accurately measure how much growth there had been by looking at the growth since the colouring.

Results:

I didn't really notice anything until around the 2 week time frame. I noticed my nails were growing very fast/very long. I have weak nails that split easily and they barely seem to grow at all. It was very noticeable because I use the computer all day and the nail growth was causing my fingers to constantly slip on the keyboard. Never having great nails, I was pretty happy to see this. My curiosity was also getting the better of me as I could see the roots of my hair pretty clearly which was unusual at 2 weeks after coloring. I took the tape measure and measured almost 1/4 of an inch in hair growth. This would mean 1/2 inch per month and 6 inches per year. I was pretty excited because although the numbers seemed small, it was twice the rate my hair normally grows. But I also noticed something else. My hair was becoming unusually greasy. Because I have very dry hair, I normally only wash it 2-3 times a week. But every other day it seemed much more greasy than normal. Hmmm.

Well, at the 1 month time frame I measured my hair growth and it was exactly 3/4 of an inch. Not only that but I was constantly trimming my nails at this point. I was totally ecstatic. But also by this point, I was washing my hair every day - it was no longer dry and brittle, it was much softer, but there was no way I could miss a day of washing it or it would be greasy.

So - the conclusions I have reached from my test was this:

1. Yes, Viviscal works. It caused my hair growth to be stimulated at over twice the speed.

2. Viviscal also makes your nails much stronger and grow much faster.

3. Viviscal makes your hair greasy, causing you to have to wash it every day - and then it's fine.

It did not cause any extra hair growth anywhere else, which I thought a bit strange (though good!!!).

I recommend this product.

I started taking extra strength hair nutrient tablets after my negative reaction to my prescription birth control. Hairloss is associated with mirena and I was hoping it wouldn't affect me but it did. My OGBYN recommended trying a supplement to combat these effects because I was dead set on having this form of birth control. It definitely helped slow down the hair loss. It took about 3 weeks before the results were noticable but I was greatly appreciative once they were. My hair wasn't coming back, but it was maintaining which was better than nothing.

I didn't start to regain hair until I started to take another supplement with the nutrient tablets. I tried an all natural hair regenerative supplement in conjunction with biotin- Hair Growth Essentials + FREE Maximum Strength Biotin Tablets. Between the three, I was able to begin to regain the growth I'd lost and my hair was growing in much stronger. It's been about 5 months and the difference is truly staggering. I'm so happy I was able to find this combination and even more so that it all works together safely and didn't counteract my other medications.

My hair has been falling out in clumps after periods of high-stress for years. This past fall I was losing at least 300 hairs a day. I had to clean out the drain in my tub after each shower I took and I could even see parts of my scalp showing through my hair. My hair had gotten so thin I couldn't even find a hairband small enough to pull my hair into a ponytail. It was so scary, i'm only 38. I have searched on the web for answers and solutions and found nothing that looked real. I saw this product in Time For Me Catalog and thought "what do I have to lose"? I did not think it would help but I was desperate. I cannot put words to how great this product has been for me. My hair stopped falling out three weeks after I started taking the pills (I take two pills a day, every day). My hair is growing back now and the hair that I hadn't lost previously is so much thicker, stronger and shinier. It's beyond amazing. I just wish I could have found this product years ago. The only side-effect I have noticed is that my hair is much oilier now, definitely must wash it daily. But that's a small price to pay. I am an actual customer, not someone being paid to write this review.

The past few years I've noticed my hair thinning at the crown. Recently I was shocked at how much hair I lost in the shower when combing through conditioner. No medical reason for this, thought it was age, years of coloring, hot irons, etc. I tried several products, most very expensive, nothing helped. I have taken Viviscal for one month. Happy to say, shocked I'm losing hardly any hair in the shower now. Noticed my pony tail actually feels thicker. I was skeptical this would work. Now I am hopeful this will solve my problem. Also, great price when auto-ordered on Amazon & shipping is very fast.

People reporting immediate results with this or any vitamin make me smile. Just as Viviscal themselves say you won't begin to see real results until 4 months which is where I am now...taking the two a day as indicated. As the hair you can see is dead you must know that this product will not impact hair you can see when you begin taking it. (This means it cannot possibly thicken hair strands immediately or in a week or in a month or so on.). Yes, you can see (as I did) that hair will start to grow faster BUT it will takes months before the new hairs influenced by taking this will begin to form in follicles and start to grow. So, despite what you may read in reviews about immediate miracle results please use common sense and know that the only thing that can make your hair seem thicker after taking this for a month or less is wishful thinking!

I am at the four month point and can report NEW HAIR growth at an inch in areas that had been very, very thin. It is easy to see with the naked eye that new hair has grown in in these spots and at hairline. I have been taking a multi and extra biotin for 20 years but only taking Viviscal for 4 months now appears to have helped in this area. No, my overall hair is not thicker at this point and I wouldn't expect it to be as its dead. It's the new hair growth that is a bit thicker after 4 months. My dramatic shedding has stopped after 4 months as well.

Yes, my hair and nails started to grow faster within weeks BUT the quality in thickness did not show improvement that quickly,

Starting today I am adding Evening Primrose Oil to my regime as my research (I'm a doctoral researcher) has shown positive results for women suffering hair loss related to DHT/male pattern/hormonal hair loss/thyroid related hair loss. Again, as above I
wouldn't expect to see results of this until about the 4 month point as it will take about that long for new follicles forming to be influenced by the addition of this product to my diet.

I had an issue a couple of years ago with a birth control pill; needless to say it caused a lot of medical issues! One of which was hair loss. I went off that pill and my body was slowly getting back to normal, but my hair didn't seem to be recovering. I don't have a lot of hair to begin with and it's fine, but viviscal helped the hair grow back AND my hair is much stronger. There is less in my brush too. My eyelashes and nails are also thicker! I love it and still use it.

These hair vitamins do work. I would recommend them to anyone who wants healthier hair. I have been taking the women's vitamins, Extra Strength for 6 months now and I just signed up for another 6 weeks of auto-shipment. Within 3 months my aesthetician (waxing my eyebrows) remarked that my eyebrows appeared fuller. Around the same time (3 months) I noticed that my eyelashes were longer. Both of these events are remarkable since I have always had thin eyebrows and thin, short eyelashes. I also have smooth, shiny nails that grow too fast and I used to have thin, brittle nails. As far as my hair goes I didn't dye it or measure the length so I can't say if it's growing faster. However, it is significantly thicker and stronger.

In the past I have also used Hair Formula 37 (for about 2 years) and those vitamins work as well. With the Hair Formula 37 I was dying my hair so I knew for sure I was getting a full inch of growth each month which is 2X the growth rate I had before. They also gave me good fingernail growth but did not improve my eyebrows or eyelashes at all. The Hair Formula 37 is also quite a few pills to take and some of them couldn't be taken on an empty stomach. Viviscal is only 2 small pills per day and I regularly take them on an empty stomach with no problems.

Overall I give good reviews to both Viviscal and Hair Formula 37 but I am sticking to Viviscal now because I really like having thicker eyebrows and longer eyelashes and I also like being able to take my vitamins on an empty stomach.

I think that women who have not experienced improved hair quality with these two vitamin brands did not give them long enough to work (I've seen reviews after 2 weeks), had unrealistic expectations, or possibly had other health problems that prevented hair growth.

After my son deployed to Afghanistan 14 months ago, I lost a TON of hair, all around my hairline. I've been stressed before, but never to this degree and never with this result. It was hideous and people were obviously looking at my bare scalp. My hair's long and fine but with that loss, if I put it up in a ponytail there was clearly a bald ring around my head. So even more stress but granted, this was sheer vanity.

About 9 months ago, I read a magazine article discussing hair loss, and a particular line from one of the hairdressers caught my eye: he said something about Viviscal, "all the models take it". From there, I began researching possible solutions and again and again, the name Viviscal and the vitamin biotin came up. So I started taking both (5 mgs. of biotin/day), but didn't hold out much hope. How often does something actually do what it says it will?

But this DOES. 6 weeks into it unbelievably enough, I could detect super-fine hair growing where there had been none. And the loss was totally arrested. By now, I've got my long bangs back and the rest of the new hair is almost 5 inches long. And it's all much thicker, to boot. This is one $33.00-for-two-months expense I will happily keep up! And, P.S.-my son made it safely home. God bless all of our troops!

I took this product religiously , following the instructions for 6 months. My hair was exactly as it was before I started. Very disappointed.
