After a disappointing attempt at a comeback with 2003's Disorder of the Order, Sabina Classen got back on her stride with this album by finally cutting her ties with ex husband and longtime Holy Moses guitarist Andy Classen, who after quitting the band eleven years hence remained nonetheless very involved with the group's songwriting.

On the band's ninth album, Strength Power Will Passion, guitarists Franki Brotz and newcomer Michael Hankel achieve a flawless collection of solid and no frills, relentlessly punishing old school thrash songs that not only hold their own compared to the band's classic work but might even surpass it at times.

Much has been said about how this band's fortunes have been tied to Sabina's talent, charm and sex appeal, and let me tell you that things are no different on this release. It takes only one listen of her harsh vocals to conclude that not only she still competes with, and, in most cases, leaves her male peers in the dust when it comes to channeling rage and intensity with her voice.

Her earlier work might have established a solid foothold that allowed a lot of women to be accepted by headbangers without excessively harsh criticism, but make no mistake: this is not some old heavy metal legend coasting on her legacy. This is the work of a completely rejuvenated band, ready to fight and willing to teach younger rivals a trick or two: I'd like to see if Angela Gossow can pull a thrash album of this intensity and bile in her mid forties while looking hotter than hell, like Sabina Classen did here. Don't worry, it'll never happen.

This is one of the best thrash metal releases of the 21st century, any fan of the style should go out and buy this without any reservations.
