De-stress your life with this book!!!,

Stress? Find Your Balance is a great book. It is an easy read and can easily be incorporated into every day life resulting in less stress. I found this book so helpful and truly easy to follow. So often techniques in books are too hard to follow and can't realistically be incorporated into life, this was not the case with this book. I continue to use techniques from this book every day and highly recommend it to anyone experiencing any level of stress. It gives you the tools to manage and deal with stressors.

Stress? Find Your Own Balance, was a book that I read as part of a stress management course that I recently took. I highly recommend it. Like one of the other reviewers, I also originally had the book back in the early 90's. I was able to use practical information given in the book to make a positive difference in my life. More recently when I took the course, I ordered the revised edition. I love this book, and find that it has great, practical information that applies to each and every one of us. One of the things that I love about it, is it is easy to relate to and understand. Sometimes I find myself referring back to it so I can keep my stress management plan on track. The course that I took was online through one of the book's authors, Dr. Allen Press. He is an amazing instructor and is highly skilled and talented.

Stress? Find Your Balance was an amazing book to read. I read this book for a class I took on managing stress and I learned so much. This book gives you all the tools you need in order to reduce stress and stressful things in your life. I definitely recommend this book to anyone with stress!

Stress? Find Your Balance completely changed my life. My daily outlook is much more positive now that I have the tools to cope with stress. I read this book months ago, but still find myself coming back to it periodically to refresh my memory on all the great techniques. I recommend this to people of all ages and stress levels. I used to constantly worry and had high anxiety, now I can recognize those feelings and cope with them in a healthy way. Stress? Find Your Balance can help everyone. I think the world could use a big dose of balance!

A Remarkably Impactful Book,

I first read an earlier edition of Stress? Find Your Balance by Allan Press and Lynn Osterkamp in 1994. This book had a profound effect on my life.
In the midst of the fast-paced lives we lead, learning more about the importance of relaxation and making pragmatic application of the book's techniques made a huge difference in my experience of life. Not only did I feel much better but found that through the use of relaxation, visual imagery, and meditation, I had conditioned myself to better manage stressful situations. In situations, such as driving to work in heavy traffic, where I previously would have become stressed out and set a negative tone for the day, I learned to call upon the mindfulness meditation called slowing down and waiting. Although I tried to eat right and exercise, this book was the impetus to make these practices an ingrained part of my life. I found I not only had more endurance and energy but was much more creative and enjoyed more zest for life. I had become a resilient person. In addition to the above benefits, the coping skills have been of immeasurable value. Among the other skills, Looking At the World Differently became a mainstay. At the time I first read Stress? Find Your Balance, I owned a retail business, which contained a small section of reading materials. I was so enthused about the book and the difference I experienced personally that I asked the authors if I could sell the book and accompanying tape. The books and tapes were among my best sellers. Customers returned to discuss the book and describe the difference it made in their lives. They purchased copies for friends and relatives. Some 12 years and 50,000 copies later, Stress? Find Your Balance by Allan Press and Lynn Osterkamp has been revised and updated. Having read the new edition I find that I am still relying upon the precepts of this book and will continue to refer back to it at times as a refresher. I still use the same mantra. Required Reading for Life,

Stress? Find Your Balance. This book was required reading for a class I enrolled in. However, I recommend this text as required reading for life. It is a clear and clean collection of tasks. The tasks (for example, Deep Muscle Relaxation, giving up being right, being good to yourself) allow you to incrementally change the aspects of your life that cause you stress. What I appreciate so much about Press is that he reminds us that WE create most of our stressors (by choices and outlook), yet we can also get rid of our stressors. This guide is a keeper.
