Off the hook in Las Vegas, March 9, 2004

It's absolutley unfair that Penn Jillett (of Penn & Teller) has STOLEN this amazing talent to use as an opening act (I kid you not)at his own show in Las Vegas (Penn & Teller). Mike Jones may be the only TRUE Jazz solo pianist left that can play down and dirtly licks that sound better (and more controlled) than Oscar P! This guy should have his own room at one of the Grand hotels in Vegas with his OWN MONSTER Cover charge! Only Diana Krall can hold a candle to this guy - this album is splendidly recorded and shows off the true inspiration that Mike Jones is. Hey Steve Wynn - make sure you have a nice room ready and waiting for this talent - cause if you don't get him someone else will! And if your in Vegas any time soon - buy a ticket to Penn & Gillette (which, btw, is really a good show too) and PJ plays a darn good Bass as opener with Mike Jones from 8-9 pm! Maybe they can charge for two shows one from 8-9 and then the P&T show from 9:00 -10:30. Couldn't hurt! What a treat - Jazz Piano (Tatum-esque too) at it's best! Just wanted more of Mike Jones. Go man - go!
