Excellent Moisturizer - But? "Better Than Botox" - NOT,
By
This review is from: StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate Stretch marks 6 oz (Health and Beauty)
Dreading the thought of any type of invasive procedures, and constantly seeing advertisements that say "Better then Botox?" (with a quote from a Doctor)for StriVectin-SD, and even though it looked to be expensive, I decided to give this product a try. StriVectin is advertised as both an intensive concentrate for Existing Stretch Marks, and as a significant reducer of fine lines, wrinkles, crows' feet and dark under eye circles. My purpose was for the fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles, as stretch marks is probably the one thing my body has not been subjected too. So my review will not deal with that aspect, but I would encourage anyone who has tried it for use as a stretch mark reducer to leave a review or comment on my review so that others interested in that can have an idea of it's effectiveness for that.So I used this product pretty religiously as directed for 3 months. Applying 3 times a day to my face and throat(okay once in a while, only 2 times a day, as I didn't always have it with me), and the first thing I noticed was it was excellent as a moisturizer. My skin still felt silky smooth and firmer in the morning. After a few weeks, I began to see what I perceived as some improvement around my eyes(dark circles and fine lines),and was really jazzed about that. For the next couple of months, I was really hoping that I would see more dramatic results as time went by("Better then Botox?"). I saw some, and the appearance of the deeper wrinkles were also slightly minimized, but nothing as dramatic as I expected. No one said to me that I looked "10-15 years younger"..or even said anything at all. And I think if I would have had Botox, someone would have remarked on the difference.I did notice some slight improvement in one area I hadn't expected. After I went through menopause, the skin on my throat, became very very dry and left a bit of a "mask" in that area. To me it appeared a little less noticeable. Would I buy it again?? Yes. As a moisturizer I found it most effective. If I was just rating that aspect I would go 5 stars.I also did see some difference in problem areas. it was mild and didn't casue any redness or other problems to my face. I would probably use this as a replacement for night creams, and using just once a day, this 6 oz. tube should last 8-9 months. It lasted nearly 3 months using mostly 3 times a day(much longer than the smaller jars of a good moisturizer). So comparably in that sense - and the price at this time at many of the sites(enter Strivectin in beauty search and many choices will come up) where it sells is about 1/2 of when it originally hit the market several years ago - it's a good buy. So check around for best deal(keep shipping deals in mind, some places offer free shipping with qualifying purchases) So overall I'm going with 3 1/2 stars, as I just don't think it lived up to all that it claims.Once again, those who have used this for reducing stretch marks, please leave us your thoughts via a review or a comment. Remember to breathe, Eat Healthy..and Enjoy!.....Laurie

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate Stretch marks 6 oz (Health and Beauty)
I used Strivectin several years ago and really liked it. However, my recent purchase through 101BeautyStore was less than satisfactory. The product I received was old. Strivectin turns a tanish brown color when it is old. There was no expiration date ANYWHERE on the product or the product packaging. My rating is actually for the seller and the product I received not Strivectin as a whole. I followed the proper procedures for reporting the defective product to 101BeautyStore and they never responded. I then contacted Amazon, took the proper steps and am happy to say Amazon was fantastic in refunding my money in a very professional and courteous manner. I will defintely still shop on Amazon but will not purchase from 101BeautyStore.

StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate,

I was very pleased with the promptness that this product was received and have been happy with the usage. There is no apparent greasiness or anything so you can apply at any time. No odor. Skin does seem to be improving. I have a sister that has been using it for several years and she is the one that recommended it. Was also quite happy to get it at the reduced price.
