It was bad enough when they switched to "2.0", but I hung in there -- moving from an unrecognizable Peppermint to a passable Spearmint. I grew to love Spearmint and could chew the same piece for an hour. It became an addiction, and I would go through a 3-pack in a week. Until the day I popped a piece in my mouth and spit it out in disgust.
They changed their flavors, again. As of September 2015, Stride has made their gum "Now More Intense," and it...is...disgusting. It's too strong and leaves a bad aftertaste. I gave away my 3-pack, and even my friends can't get through it.
So, Stride, you ruined my favorite sugarless gum and lost a customer. If it ain't broke, what made you think you needed to fix it?
I did order it on here, had it delivered to my door
and avoided shipping charges by ordering other things.
All and All, I am very happy with this purchase.
It is still a good deal compared to buying individual
gum packs. I will buy other gum as well so I don't get
sick of this gum.
The spearmint is very simple, sweet (without the sugar), and refreshing.
If they came out with an aspartame-free gum, then I would return. I realize that the FDA and EU health org (can't remember name) says it's safe, but if you look at the studies they are NOT conclusive. One study said: "A recent study of more than 125,000 people found a link between consumption of aspartame sweetened soda and the risk of leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma in men, but not in women. Since it also found a link between sugar sweetened soda and lymphoma in men, the researchers concluded that the links they found could be explained by chance." And we're just going to leave it to chance?
Amazon blocked the link to the non-biased (as far as I can tell) review of the research on Aspartame by the American Cancer Society. If interested, do a Google search for "Aspartame - American Cancer Society" and then click on the link titled (you guessed it): "Aspartame - American Cancer Society."

Don't get it wrong, I like Stride Spearmint, but mine was just two month to its expiration and taste quality was pretty unpleasant and overall structure was much harder and... Read morePublished 8 months ago by Vic
