I only ice fish once a year, so have no need for a power auger. I was able to crank through 36 inches (yeah 36 inches!) of ice in 5 to 10 minutes. Three holes was enough of a workout for me, but this auger works just fine for my infrequent needs.

First auger of this type I have owned. Once I figured out how to atttack the ice with this thing it was a blessing. Have to keep the blades honed (pocket stone works well). Quick delivery and good communications.

Auger arriver sooner than expected and has performed admirably for my Grandsons. Would use this vendor again if needed.

Took this Mora 7in on ice this weekend to see how it performs and here it is:Pros - sharp blades, adjustable handle, no slip grip. Cons - handle is not sturdy, performs poorly on thick ice. I am a medium built guy and should not be able to do any damage to this auger under normal circumstances, however about mid way through my day (a dozen or so holes drilled in a little over a foot of ice) I discovered a noticeable bent around the top hight-adjustment hole. Drilling thick ice was not a breeze either. After going 6-8 in deep the ice chips did not extract well so I ended up lifting auger with some chips 2 - 3 times during the process. If you plan to use this auger on a thick ice be ready for some exersise. Its a firm 3 stars with me, cant give it any higher score.

I use the 6" Mora model. It is great to backpack up to mountain lakes. The adjustable length is good and it comes apart to pack. Only weighs 6 pounds. Be sure to get a blade guard.

Went out on the frozen lake and found my favorite spot and it tokk less than 1 minute to drill the hole in the ice and before you know it had a fish on. Well made product.

I just purchased this auger and it cut 16 holes through 4-5 inches of ice without a problem in one day. It only took about 30 seconds per hole. This auger is a great value!

Cut great holes through about 10 inches of ice, till one of the blades broke on about the 4th hole. Sent the auger back and waiting for a replacement. Rating could go up or down depending on how long it takes to get the auger back, and if the blades work properly this time.
