The line this substitute for the ordinary carpenter's pencil is as de-scribed by the manufacturer: crisp, clean, and on point.Unfortunately, from time to time the lead slips o-u-t and falls to the ground; however, it seems never to break: the lead is t-o-u-g-h.

I brought this to give it a try as the concept sounded good. However, it falls short. The problem is that it's very difficult to sharpen or put an edge on the lead so you get very thick marks. When you try to sharpen the lead with your knife, it usually breaks off. There are indentations in the lead that allow the holder to dispense the lead with a push of the cap. The knife gets caught on the grooves and breaks. You can however sharpe the lead by rubbing it on sandpaper. It'll keep my old fashioned carpenter pencils.
