As a not-so-helpful reader pointed out, yes you could possibly locate similar information on the internet when it comes to string encryption -- but you couldn't when this first appeared on AspToday.com.

Although the author does describe encryption included in .Net and gives a fairly detailed example, the information contained in this article is available for free on the internet. Nothing new here that I already didn't know or could have obtained for free. I would recommend a "real" book about security and encryption over this article.
