5.0 out of 5 stars Every guitarist needs this tuner!
I've played guitar for 40 years and I've had a lot of gizmos, some that worked and some that didn't. This is BUY FAR the most revolutionary guitar product I've ever seen. It tunes the guitar perfectly and without any human intervention, the human error is eliminated! As most guitarists know, the pesky G string always seems to be the hardest to get right and if that's off...

I've played guitar for 40 years and I've had a lot of gizmos, some that worked and some that didn't. This is BUY FAR the most revolutionary guitar product I've ever seen. It tunes the guitar perfectly and without any human intervention, the human error is eliminated! As most guitarists know, the pesky G string always seems to be the hardest to get right and if that's off the rest sound awful! The test of a good tune for me has been playing a natural D chord and with the stringmaster it always sounds PERFECT! This machine is simply the best guitar product EVER! Buy one! for $39 bucks you will not imagine being without one ever again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic , accurate, convenient, July 18, 2007

I am blown away by how great it is to own this device. It takes maybe 30 seconds longer than a quick on your own, but it gets the notes 100% accurate almost every time. So you don't have to stop and admit you've mistuned a string. It's really like having a roadie. The other great aspect of using this is that it isn't distracted by other people playing and tuning their instruments. I wish it could handle alternate tunings, but otherwise this really is a dream fulfilled (and at a reasonable price, as dreams go!).

This little thing is the absolute MASTER of quick-tuning your guitar. You just put it on the tuning key and pluck the string and BZZZZZ! The little motor turns the key back and forth till you get the perfect tune. It's better than sliced bread for any beginning guitarist.
Some of my friends do free-hand tuning by ear and all of them now use my little robot. It does run on a 9 volt battery that isn't included. I've gotten several tunings out of that one battery too and it's still going strong.

In short, I highly recommend this little tuner!

It's a good equipment but I wish they included the extra gear needed for the acoustic guitar.

Worst piece of guitar garbage I have ever purchased. The servo motors don't even have enough power to turn the pegs. I tried three sets of brand new batteries. Don't waste your money on this thing. Just get a normal meter tuner. They're cheaper and they always work.

3.0 out of 5 stars You may have to return it...., January 27, 2007
This review is from: String Master Robotic Guitar Tuner
I bought this for my boyfriend's birthday, and he was extremely happy with it!!

Then he tried to use it.

The tuner would not tune the nut and it would make weird noises. Sometimes it wouldn't even turn on. I told him i would return it back to musician's friend. One good thing about Musician's friend is that their customer service is extremely helpful and their warranty service is very, very good (they have a 45 day return policy). Im still in the process of exchanging it, since i figured it was probably defective and i could always return it again if i so chose.

All im saying is that you're doing this at your own risk (as it always is with buying things over the internet). If you dont want to have to take the chance of having it be defective or just not working, this product is not for you.
