This is a sturdy, hard working wall hanger. I have everything I play regularly hanging from these. Heavy bass, guitars, mandolin. They all fit without issues.
* I have not, and would not bend the two arms for a tighter fit - I've never found it necessary, and I wouldn't want to cause any metal fatigue problems. Also, it's nice to hang any instrument on any hanger. As is these work with every instrument I own, big to small, without bumping tuning machines. * The rubber covering has not caused any finish issues like some of the vinyl stuff on other cheepie guitar stands can. It's soft enough to hold a guitar without risk of damage, but tough enough that I'm not worried about babying it to make it last. Everything that could ding your guitar is covered with rubber or plastic. * I have not found the rubber "washers" that provide extra keep-it-on-the-hanger protection at all difficult to install as others have. They slide on with only a little "elbow grease", and the plastic caps they go over hold them on securely. I like them much better than those swivel keepers on some more expensive holders - they don't make it hard to get your guitar out of the holder or scrape on it going in and out. * The metal base is exactly 3-1/2 inches high - the same as a 1x4 from your local lumber store. You can fasten a 1x4 around your wall at the right height (screw it to the studs, paint it or stain it if you like) and screw the hangers to it. Looks great and is rugged - nothing will fall off the wall. If you just want to fasten a hanger directly to your wall, find a stud and use long enough screws to reach it. Don't use the included wall-board anchors, hanging your instrument from wallboard is just begging for heartbreak. Don't use the included #6 screws, they are pretty wimpy. Don't use wallboard screws, they aren't strong enough either. Go to your hardware store and buy #8 pan-head screws, they will fit through the mounting holes without interference and you aren't likely to shear them off. * You can't tell from the picture, but these hangers will hold your acoustic guitars away from the wall - they won't touch anything but hanger. No wall rash. * Even after you buy some stronger screws, they cost half as much as some other hangers that are inferior for some of the above reasons. More lettuce left for things like strings, picks, pedals, that new wine red curly maple LP... I've bought these hangers more than once, and I'll buy them again if I need more. Highly recommended.

Large Holes, But Worth It.,
This review is from: String Swing Metal Home and Studio Wide Guitar Hanger (Black) (Electronics)
Though the dry-wall braces are a little hard to get into the wall all the way without stripping (and after certainly leaving HUGE holes in the wall), I would bet a gorilla swinging from the neck of my bass couldn't pull this heavy-duty sucker down. I feel pretty secure with my guitars hanging 3 ft. off the ground with this unit in the wall.

I have about 10 of these in my guitar room now, and I love em! I used to use floor stands, but these are so much more sensible and convenient. By getting your guitars off the floor, they don't get bumped into/knocked over, and they really free up space.
The installation is cake, and you won't be disappointed in the String Swing's stability. Your guitars will look as if they are on display, and I have discovered that your "musically curious" buddies won't mess with the instruments that are hanging on the wall. This is just my personal opinion, but I prefer the lower-profile of the metal plate design over the wood block version of this item. If you're considering these, get 'em! 2115|R2PIMVK8OP4W0Y;2115|R3722SMCPEOWLQ;2115|R19WV5XE1QJAE5;
