With Strings Attached is a high quality product in every way. The interesting text, the paper, the photography and the print all leave the reader with the feel of holding a product of the highest degree possible. The choice of instruments in the collection attest to the knowlege and insight of the author/collector.

I bought this as a gift for a friend since I had been given a copy a year ago. For anyone who truly appreciates guitar music and the legendary instruments played by the artists who create great music, this book is a treasure. I've read Kellerman's mystery novels and his love of the guitar is suggested in those books, but this collection is truly amazing. The photographic and written documentary of each instrument in this book is unique. Each guitar is described in detail, along with it's pedigree and a wealth of information about the craftsmen who created them. If you're looking for a gift to give to a musician friend, look no further.

This beautifully written & photographed book uniquely captures the magical qualities that can be found in fine instruments. It has taken a fine writer & relentless collector to articulate the visceral response that a guitar can evoke. Masterfully done! I know players that would simply say: Yeah man, what he said.

This book is fantastic. I read it cover to cover. It is very well written and photographed. I am a player and hobbiest luthier and learned an incredible amount about the instruments and the people who built them.

The best of both worlds. Being a guitar collector and a crime enthusiast I really enjoyed this book, getting proof that Mr. Kellerman possesses the knowledge of his subject(s) often missing in other writers (Hope his knowledge of grisly murders isn't as firsthand, though).
Lovely and detailed photographs, fascinating history both of the instruments and how he acquired them. Lots of unknown gems here, rarely seen in other guitar publications.
This book will stay on my coffe table for a long time, and the competition is fierce.

This is a gorgeous book, superbly written and photographed. An important improvement on all other "guitar books". The idea of writing about every instrument in a collection, with creativity, wit and historic accuracy is greatly welcomed. Only wished for more great electrics, basses, though...

I stumbled across this book while browsing Mr. Kellerman's website, I have been a fan of his Alex Delaware books for years. I was surprised to see he had a coffee table book on guitars. I needed a nice birthday gift for my husband, who is into guitars, so I bought it and surprised my husband with it. My husband really likes this book - the quality is excellent!! My husband reads about one guitar every night and often shares an interesting tidbit or shows me the photos as he is reading through it. He has thanked me many times for this great gift and has even brought it out when we have company over! I don't know how I will ever be able to top this birthday gift!! The only thing that could top it - Mr. Kellerman, please buy more vintage guitars and publish a second book! Thanks to you and all involved in producing such a quality product.

This is truly a work of art. The exquisite photography alone is worth the purchase price. But Mr. Kellerman also provides fascinaing details about the instruments and their makers. This is not just a picture book of guitars, it is a work of art and history. Even non-musicians would enjoy this book. Kudos to Mr. Kellerman for a brilliant work.

This was a gift for one of my friends. He loved it! Since he's very hard to buy for, this book must be great!
