4.0 out of 5 stars Great musicians, great arrangements
This album may not be for hormonally-driven 17-year-old boys but for us old folks (I'm 27), it's really great. The musicianship of both G N'R and the collection of musicians playing here really stands out. The arrangements are interesting and different with a focus on acoustic guitar. If you are a fan of acoustic guitar, this is right up your alley (even if you're not a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Injustice!
If you like GNR then im thinking you should avoid this so called tribute. Folksy GNR is almost as bad as Sheryl Crow's cover of Sweet Child o mine. Why cant somebody get this tribute thing down? But on the other hand... if you like folksy music then this might just be your bag.

Although this CD won't be the perfect solution for the Metal lovers but for those who play the guitar, and like to hear something besides noise and distortion this CD offers the excellent solution. Excellent performance of the best Guns N Roses songs, now you can finally relax to the sound of Mama Kin, and hey, no words in this one, but let the music do the talking.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Take on Great Music, August 22, 2003
By A Customer

I have been a Gn'R fan for a long long time. While we all hold our breathes and wait for Chinese Democracy, we all need something to tickle our music fancy. I was flipping through cds in a store and found this album. I scanned it and listened to the samples and I was blown away. Not only is it an accoustical randition of the music even the vocals were done by guitars. A full and rich music cd, I highly recommend it to die hard Guns N' Roses fans!

This CD is an awesome one. It shows you how great Guns N' Roses really truly are. They are an excellent band, and the guitars in it are sometimes incredible. If you are looking for something to relax to, you usually don't think of Guns N' Roses. But with this astounding CD, you can relax perfectly.

Considering that W. Axl Rose is a lyrically euphonic genius, producing a disc without any of these lyrics makes absolutely no sense. Why take away that which is so important? Is Guns N' Roses actually Guns N' Roses without Axl's vocals? I think not. Nor are they such without the compelling and provacative stringmanship of Slash. Come on now, do you think Axl listens to this for enjoyment in the privacy of his own home? I agree with the music fan who gave the review before mine, why can't anyone get this tribute thing right? I guess no one can do it like AXL!!
