Beeautifully written and illustrated essay on striper fishing, mainly in the vicinity of Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. Much useful information and good descriptions of innovative techniques.

The only knocks I have is that the book is too short (maybe there will be an expanded edition sometime in the future) and that it's available only in paperback.

This a great book as an introduction to fly fishing for striped bass in the saltwater. Specifics are left out to some degree, but they only pertain to exact situations. Abrames drives home the point that proper presentation to productive water is the key to success and he outlines what some of those presentations are without too much filler.

Also this book is great for reminding experienced fishers what matters. Great book to keep in your library.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is not a stand alone resource as many of these books are instruction manuals. It is more of an expression of opinion and observation, which I found refreshing. I think that some of the material was well detailed, including presentation and reading currents in different environments. Being an amature tyer, I was hoping for more visual instruction for some of the well know and productive flies.
