I WANT MORE!!! When is the next Book coming out??????,
By Lisa (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
I read the book; "A Stripper's Tail" and thought it was Awesome! I never realized that men and women, for that matter, could be so "Outrageous" when it comes to different fetishes and fantasies. It was a real eye opener for me. I thought Diamond wrote the book in a very tasteful manner, but realistic. Very well written. I got the book and couldn't put it down until I was finished. I was a little upset when I got to the last page, I WANTED MORE!!!! Everyone needs to read this book, especially if your man visits Vegas.......

Watch out Vegas, the truth is coming out... Must Read!!!!!!!!,
By Chadder Box (Las Vegas, NV) - See all my reviews

My girlfriend picked up this book and we sat and read it together one night. We had never laughed so hard in our lives. This book was more insightful about the dancing industry than any book I have ever read. It tells the truth about what really happens in the dark of the Las Vegas world and the exotic dancing industry. My girl used to dance and when we read this she was like; That's happened to me. It is more real than any other book out there. Must read if you like strippers or are thinking about joining the industry itself... Diamond you rock and shine like the real gem that you are....

I read this book in one setting. I couldn't put it down. Some of the craziest stories I have ever read are within this book. I had no idea what crazy things happened in Vegas. A real must read for anyone who visits Vegas. Great story from poverty to riches... And anyone thinking about entering the industry should read this book first... A REAL MUST HAVE!!!!!!

A Must have for every coffee table...,
By Cody (California) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
I have to disagree with the bad reviews on this book. Although, there are a few grammatical errors, most books out there these days have one or two that can be found. I agree the author is not a novelist, but I have to give the stripper girl an A+ for her effort in the attempt to tell her stories. I found this book to be funny and hilarious and very easy to visualize everything that the author is talking about. I know I will be leaving this book on my coffee table for all of my friends to pick up and browse through for a good laugh. A must have for every coffee table!!!!

Amazing book, a real book and a true story...,
By Kendall (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
I read a lot and about many subjects and I found this book to be very compelling and realistic. Given to me by a friend I wasn't sure what to think by the cover, but underneath I found a true story about a woman trying to raise her kids the best she can and found dancing along the way to help her succeed. She goes from rags to riches per say, do to dancing and actually found a job that she truly enjoyed. Great book, Diamond. When's the next coming out? I want more!!!!

Mom of a Dancer, this is a real must have!!!!,
By Sharon Peterson "mother of a dancer" (Fresno Ca USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
I am the mother of a Dancer and I read this book and think it's an excellent must read. Everything in this book is true and to the point about the real world of stripping. I have never heard all the facts of what my own daughter has had to deal with over the years and after reading this, I have to commend her for her job and sticking with it all these years to support her kids. This book made me laugh and I found it to be a very entertaining book. A true must have!!!!!!

From the time I picked this book up I couldn't put it down. I read it from cover to cover in one setting and was only upset when it was over, because I wanted to know more. The stories were shocking and amazing, I couldn't believe what I was reading. This book tells it all and then some... A must read for anyone interested in getting in the exotic dancing business. Great read Diamond!!!! I felt like you were sitting right with me telling me the stories and I could picture every story in my mind as she is telling it... MUST HAVE!!!!

No different than any other stripper book.,
By Linda the dancer (Arizona) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
As a stripper myself, I am always picking up these types of books, to learn of other stripper's experiences. This book is no different than most on the market.
I think the author is adding a little spice to the story to get people's reactions and interests going. I am not impressed and cannot recommend this book to anyone, sorry.

This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
**Edit: One of the most annoying aspects of this book is that the majority of stories the writer tells are NOT her own stories!! So she's making bank by stealing other peoples' experiences. This is made even more annoying because she pairs these stories with her own judgmental remarks on other dancers'/customers' actions.**
I bought this book thinking that I could stomach the grammatical errors (mentioned by other reviewers), since the stories would hopefully be interesting/shocking/humorous enough to make up for the errors. I was wrong. I'm easily entertained, but also educated, and this book failed to be entertaining or even merely educational about 'behind the scenes' stripping. I was not shocked by any of Diamond's stories (come on people, you probably know what goes on in Vegas by now...use your imaginations!) Diamond basically reiterates what you already think of Vegas strip clubs (for the right price, everything can happen), and doesn't even provide a unique perspective, or any insightful comments about her job. She seems VERY snooty, extremely cynical about men in general, undereducated (ironic, since one of her stories is about how a random customer complimented her on her intelligence), and unable to harness any forms of rhetoric to make her stories more interesting. She seems to fail to realize that what goes on in Vegas ALSO goes on in clubs across America. Just because Las Vegas has a large collection of clubs in one place does NOT mean it's the only place where girls provide sexual favors in the back rooms. If you want a good book that will provide you with entertaining anecdotes coupled with smart reflections/insights, buy the book "Callgirl: Confessions of an Ivy League Lady of Pleasure." I'm also currently reading "Flesh for Fantasy" (women's studies, sex positive perspectives + customer perspectives + dancer perspectives). And I just finished "Sex Work: Writings by Women in the Sex Industry," which was edited phenomenally and provides numerous perspectives from many different kinds of sex workers. Similar to this book is "Jane Sexes It Up" which provides sex-positive, convincing, interesting arguments for marginalized, but normal, sexual practices (along with first-person accounts of such practices). DO NOT BUY "A Stripper's Tail."

Not what I expected, too exagerated.,
By Jewels (Tucson, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Stripper's Tail: Confessions of a Las Vegas Stripper (Paperback)
As someone that works in the sex industry - i am always looking for material that doesn't demean or ridicule girls in my field. Frankly, this book did just that. This dancer held herself up to be a pristine stripper with morals of gold - while her fellow dancers are portrayed to be a little more nasty and a little more seedy, and a little more willing to do anything for a dollar.
The insight into what really happens when men are turned loose on the Las Vegas scene sounds pretty made up to most of us other dancers who are out there every night. I guess it makes good reading material if you no nothing aobut stripping or strippers though. |
