Product Description

These Anti-Twist-Plates prevent your camera from twisting off axis from the flash. Register and lock you camera in position on these ultra thin plates via locating pins on a camera platform. These are recommended for use the Stroboframe Folding Flip Bracket. This plate is designed to fit Canon camera models: 10D, Digital Rebel, Eos 1Ds, Eos 5D, Nikon D2H and D2X.

The plate works nicely with a Canon EOS 7D, and (I assume) with the specific models cited in the manufacturer's description.

However, it does NOT work with a Canon 40D. To keep the camera from twisting, plate has a small lip that cups the bottom edge of the back of the camera. Unfortunately the 40D has a row of buttons on that bottom edge (just below the LCD), and the twist plate covers up (and presses into) those buttons.

I suspect that means the plate won't work with a 50D either.

I have purchased this product to work with my Stroboframe Pro bracket and my Canon 7D for wedding work. There's no cushioning of any sort (cork) provided with this product. (I had used cork strip from my previous Anti Twist Plate)
Camera was not completely stabilized and was still twisting a little. Plate had scratched 7D's paint, metal is showing.

This product will have an impact on resale value of your camera, I would recommend to avoid it.
