This video demonstrates a program of very simple, but important steps, to prevent shoulder pain. A stroke survivor with a painful shoulder has difficulty sleeping, dressing, walking and doing most activities. Most painful shoulders can been prevented, if those caring for the stroke survivor are better informed.
In order to prevent shoulder pain, first we need to know the common causes of shoulder pain. Next, every person helping the stroke survivor will need to know how to protect their shoulder from injury.
Topics Include:
- Step-by-step methods used to keep the shoulder from getting tight
- Common causes of pain to the weak shoulder
- The "do's and don'ts" of preventing shoulder pain
- Home exercise program for the shoulder and arm
