I saw these guys live last night, having previously never heard of them. Here I am buying there cd. The electrified violen and chello are a versatile pair. They can rock like an electric guitar, jam with a waa pedal, or jazz it up with other sound effects. The drummer is fantastic. They're on tour, and stopped in town. They played an excellent re-make of Sweet Dreams, that left everyone in the bar hollerin for more.

I saw Deadweight open up for Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade about a year ago. I went to see Les, I was more wowed by Deadweight! I had no clue who these guys were, what their music was like, or anything. Then they walk on stage... violin, cello, drums... I thought "ummmmm... ok..." but was floored at the sound and techniques used!I highly recommend checking this band out! Their music does get repetative after a while (like most "new" bands) but that doesn't take away from the quality and uniqueness of the music when compared to other groups in their genre (if you think there are any... but to be vague let's label them "rock"). |
