If you like Garbage, The Pixies, The Breeders, L7 or Veruca Salt this CD is for you. I heard "Anger is Beautiful" and got the CD hoping there might be at least one other good song on it. I was stunned to find that there is simply not a bad song on this disc! It is the best CD I have. "Strong" covers everything from pop ("Sleep With You") to all out rock ("Snow White"). You can detect the influence of the above bands, but Clare Quilty has their own, very unique, very versatile, genre-spanning sound. Lead singer Jenn Rhubright's vocals are seductive on some songs and raw and powerful on others. No matter what your taste in rock, you cannot go wrong with this disc. Like the guy below me, I can't figure out why this isn't getting more airtime on the radio, etc. This is the best new music I've heard in 10 yrs. Buy it now - you won't regret it.

This album was a surprise for me. I had heard "Anger is beautiful" and thought to myself "hey, this is good, what else do they have...?" and bought the album. When it arrived, I thought, "OH NO" looking at the cover - thinking it was mistake; that it would be another Meg Hentges album; but NO, thankfully. Not only was the first song every bit as good as I remembered, but the whole album is, well, excellent. I was constantly surprised by the power, quality, and consistency of the album.

The second half of the album rocks a bit harder than the first half, so when I'm in the mood rock-out, I'll start with Snow White (track 7). But for that cool introspective slower sound with a good thick beat and some classic minor-chord guitar riffs that transition into very slick harmonies, listen to Comfort Me. If you're even on the fence about this, let me push you over. Buy it, you will be very happy you did. What I can't figure out is WHY this isn't being played on the radio!? It's certainly much better than most of the stuff I've been hearing lately.
