I fell in love with this beautiful ballad the first time I heard it on the radio in the spring of 2003. It's so peaceful and comforting with the assurance that no matter what hardships you face, you can count on God to help you through them. "Is He not strong enough?/Is He not pure enough?/To break me, pour me out, and start again?/Is He not brave enough?/To take one chance on me/Please can I have one chance to start again?"
Trust me when I tell you this isn't your typical inspirational ballad. Stacie's vocals start off soft and almost unsure, but gain more power as the song goes on and gives her a chance to show off her full range (3 and a half octaves). Even if you're not religious, you can find faith within yourself to pick yourself up and keep soldiering through life's battles. |
