I recommend this book to anyone who wants to lose weight and enjoy it in the process! I have about 11 of Joannas cookbooks, and this one has got to be my most favorite and most used! She has recipes for dairy mixes, main dishes salads and best of all healthy desserts! You wont be dissapointed in the selection of recipes! All the ingredients in these recipes are easy to find for the most part, and affordable!

Not her best,

Not JoAnna's best cookbook, due to its emphasis on calcium, or milk and cheese. It's worth it, though, just for her recipes for evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, sour cream, dry casserole soup mix, etc. Almost all of the main dish recipes are cream-sauce/condensed soup based casseroles, usually meatless but with cheese. My husband won't go there, and my son is lactose intolerant and can't go there. Most of the desserts are puddings, also based on milk. This cookbook lacks the variety I see in most of JoAnna's cookbooks. Still, I am glad I bought it. On Ebay for $1, plus $3 shipping.

I am in my early 30s and I was diagnosed as pre-osteoporosis. I am a huge HE fan and was totally delighted to find that Mrs. Lund had a book out for calcium-rich recipes!! I am sad to hear of her death in 2006 but very happy that her family decided to continue her business, she is a true life-saver. I remember hearing her on the radio in 1998, I think it was Dr. Dobson who interviewed her. I was so inspired and I felt for the first time in years that there was going to be a way out of overweight. You will LOVE the recipes in this book, she even has a chapter for making calcium rich whipped topping, sour cream, soup mixes, etc. DEE-LISH!!!
