I simply love most of the books that iris Johansen write. I am a huge fan... I started with the EVE DUNCAN series and noticed that her character's lives were intertwined with each other and so, I ended up going back to her previous books. This book STRONG, HOT WINDS is a very good book. I love the characters and the exoticness of the male character DAMON and his attitude in life. Very fascinating... Love it...

I loved this book. I have read it before back in the wonderful days of Loveswept books. I miss Loveswept. I had them delivered to my house each month and I could wait until they got there. This particular book is by Iris Johansen who has gone on to great success with the Eve Duncan series. Strong, Hot Winds is from her earlier style of books. The classic romance book where the hero and heroine know they love each other but for their own reasons feel they must stay away from each other, then they reunite and have a wonderful happy ever after ending. These kinds of romances are my favorite. I read romances because I don't have much in my real life so I live vicariously through these wonderful romances. Keep them coming authors.

I borrowed this book expecting mystery and romance. It was a mixture of both. A bit of the desert life full of the old rules clashing with the modern day woman. As I said, a nice rainy day past time.

This was a quick read. The book features a Sheikh who is not the everyday leader. The opening scene depicts the Sheikh with a bleak emptiness in his eyes, He had pursued a rumor and found it to be true. A tiny dead child lying in the desert sand. Since he is the leader of the El Zabor it is his responsibility to render judgement or decide to forgive the perpetrator. On top of that, he has a man waiting for him with information that may warrant a bonus... and indeed it does. So as you can see there is the meat of a good plot with romantic intrigue.

Not a classic by any stretch of the imagination, sad book without a plot. Waste of my time!

I enjoyed the story, but the normal depth was missing. Iris Johansen writes much better and not as shallow. This book was an exception to her normal stories.
