Ya Won't Be Disappointed!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits (Audio CD)
This album is SOOOO funny and awesome, but it has some duds. I'll rate em individually.
Trogdor: by: Strong Bad: 10/10: Probably the most anticipated song her. its extended with an awesome dualing guitar solo. The System is Down: by: Strong Bad: 9/10: can get annoying, but there's a good part at the end Strong Badia National Anthem: by: Strong Bad feat. Mrs. Partsmatter's 1st grade class: 8/10: I would rate higher, but the 1st grade class gets on my nerves. But this version is funnier so....... Oh Yeah Yeah (Punk Rock Version): by: Marzipan: 5/10: Oh.... Problematic Because It's Midnight: by: Limozeen: 12/10: Oh yeah! The best thing on the album. It's amazing how the same guy can such a wide range from Limozeen to Taranchula to the Kinda Long-Haired Band! Anyway, this song sounds almost exactly like an eighties song! An AWESOME eighties song! It's got the memerable chorus, overdriven guitar/synth solo, EVERYTHING! Circles: by: The Kinda Long-Haired Band: 10/10: Another hit! It's extended w/ a more acoustic feel. Theres a mellow solo leading to Strong Bad getting into it. Beautiful! Let's Get Started on Doing All Those Awesome Things I Suggested: by: Strong Bad: 7/10: It's all talking. As soon as the song gets started, the tape literally dies. But it's funny how after the tape dies, it goes right into death metal in a second, even though I don't think that was their intention. Moving Very Slowly: by: Taranchula: 8/10: First of all, I HATE death metal, but for some reason I'mattracted to it. Maybe its the awesome solo... Sweet Cuppin' Cakes Theme Song: by: The Cast of Sweet Cuppin' Cakes: 7/10: Another dud. It's WAY too off beat. It would be alright if it was kinda off beat, but they just tried too hard. I Think I Have a Chance With This Guy: by: What's-Her-Face: 5/10: Yet another dud. The song is just What's-Her-Face saying "I think I have a chance with this guy" over and over again to a crummy dance beat. It Was Like It was meant to Be: by: Strong Bad: 9/10: Nobody else I know likes this song as much as I do, but I think it's pretty nice and mellow. Reminds me of Journey vaguely. Nite Mamas: by: Limozeen: 9/10 Not the best by Limozeen. The drumming and beat is kinda off. Also the verse is kinda mediocre. BUT it's got a great chorus and solo, so the good outweighs the bad Sensitive to Bees: by: Marzipan feat. Strong Bad & Homestar Runner: 9/10 without Strong Bad and Homestar, the song is still pretty good. but WITH Strong Bad's funny commentary and Homestar's blatant unawareness of what's going on, it becomes way better You've Got an Ugly and Stupid Butt: by: Strong Bad: 8/10 What's there to say? The beginning is fulla R&B and the end is fulla salsa. It's pretty funny. These Peoples Try to Fade Me: by: Coach Z: 9/10 HILARIOUS! Coach Z trying to rap is HILARIOUS!!!! The Ladies in the Town All know my Name: by: Strong Bad: 8/10 Even though it's wicked short, it's still got a psychedelic feel and a reference to Brianrietta Theme from Dangeresque II by: Strong Bad: 8/10 Very spy-like! Funny lyrics. good beat (celebrity pharmacist?) Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them) by: Strong Bad: 9/10 The best "Strong Bad Sings"-derived song here. This song is set to a blugrass rhythm, and I'm not a bluegrass fan either. But it's just so funny and strangely attractive... The Cheat is Not Dead: by: Strong Bad feat. Strong Sad and Strong Mad: 10/10 Definitely one of the best here! extended, Great tune. Hilarious lyrics. a choir?, and an upbeat gospel ending. Everybody to the Limit (Live at West Reykjavik) by: Strong Bad: 10/10 WAY better than the studio version. It's got extended lyrics and a synth's accompaniment (is that a word?!) Secret Song by: Homestar Runner: 10/10 I can't tell you. It's a secret! OVERALL: Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits: 180/210 = 86% = B to B+ Enjoy!

Describing Homestar Runner and its cast of loony and anarchic characters is impossible. Suffice it to say that if you love the toon, you'll love the CD. It's got the expected favorites: "Trogdor," "The Cheat is not Dead," "The Theme from Dangeresque II," and a "live" version of "Everybody to the Limit." PLUS, the CD has a ton of new, original material featuring Strong Bad, Marzipan and Coach Z. (Very minor complaint: the well-known tunes have been re-recorded--they are not exactly what is heard in the toon).
Very funny, in the goofy, preening and egotistical way that is (deep down) the heart of every male human being.

As the characters might put it:
"Oh man! This CD is on point!" -- Strong Bad "Me Like CD!" -- Srtong Mad "This makes me feel like writing some sad poetry." -- Strong Sad "I'm gonna sell a bunch of copies for $1,000.00 to collectors!" -- Bubs "Dis is bettew dan Teddy Gwahams and Widdle Brudda. He's such a twooper!" -- Homestar "Good jaerb." -- Coach Z "This CD is really stupid." -- Marzipan Not a single track is worthy of the Poopsmith. Crapfully Yours, fhgqwgads

This is too much, man. StrongBad is a multifaceted performer--metal, pop, and more.
The man behind the mask has a tender side, too. "You've got an ugly (...) and you're stupid" will surely go down in love song history as a classic lyric. I have to give props to "The Cheat is Not Dead;" a true standout. RUN, don't walk, to Amazon.com to purchase this disk.

Great Quality, Excellent Effort, But....,
This review is from: Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits (Audio CD)
This is definetly something any homestar runner fan should have. The only problem is, now, the jokes that went with the songs are kind of old. And i would say that some of the songs are not exactly what you would expect: like "To the Limit" is in funk and the Stong Badia Anthem is different from what i remember.
There is still plenty to love about the CD, but it's just not the same. Perhaps the crew should think about a second CD...

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Strong Bad Sings and Other Type Hits (Audio CD)
Everybody loves Strong Bad. I've done my own review on some of the songs. Here we go:
Trogdor: 9/10 This is a great, solid song! Strong Bad really expresses the fury of his one-armed dragon. The System Is Down: 5/10 It's pretty darn annoying, but the reason I left those five points is because Strong Bad made it! This will really change the way you think about techno music. Strong Badia National Anthem: 5/10 Again, not perfect. The first graders will get on your nerves and distract the humor. Oh Yeah Yeah: 5/10 The guitar riffs are great, but it's just Marzipan's awful singing that spoils it all. Because, It's Midnite: 9/10 Really, I'm not a metal fan, or a hair metal fan for that matter. Despite this, however, Limozeen did a great job and actually managed to get a good song out. As well, this totally sounds like any eighties song! Circles: 4/10 Really, it's a boring, lifeless acoustic song. I would of rated it 0/10 but the fact that Strong Bad is singing it has to add points on. Let's Get Started On All Those Awesome Things I Suggested: 5/10 Again, too slow and lifeless. But, again, it's sb singing here. As well, it has a huge name D: Moving Very Slowly: 6/10 Really, I HATE death metal. Oddly, this song is interesting... Sweet Cuppin Cakes Theme Song: .1/10 Really, the song is no good at all. It has a ridiculous, cheesy beat and a dim-witted feel. Also a bit disturbing... I Think I Have A Chance With This Guy: 4/10 This is a boring song and is very redundant, but again, who does the voice of what's her face? Strong Bad!!! It's Like It Was Meant To Be: 9/10 This is a great, funny ballad that sounds remarkably like Journey but it's just too short. Nite Mamas: 10/10 Limozeen again manages to produce an actually GOOD hair metal song. The song has more of an upbeat feel then Because It's Midnite. Sensitive To Bees: 5/10 Marzipan fails at songwriting, but Strong Bad and Homestar's remarks keep it going. You've Got an Ugly & Stupid Butt: 2/10 This is an awful song, and even Strong Bad's vocals don't brighten it up much. These Peoples Try To Fade Me: 9/10 Coach Z's rapping is hilarious and the hip-hop beat rules. Make sure to give this one a listen. The Ladies In Town All Know My Name: 7/10 Psychedelic music gives this a unique vibe. Pretty short, though. The Theme From Dangeresque II: This Time, It's Not Dangeresque I: 9/10 This is a great theme song that's really fun to listen to! Love the drama! Somebody Told Me (Now I Believe Them): 4/10 I hate Bluegrass music. Anyway, it's really not Strong Bad's style. However, If you do like Bluegrass, check this out. (Strong Bad makes it better!) The Cheat Is Not Dead:10/10 Very good song! The Casio beginning is great and the following Gospel/Reggae beats gives it a great sense of depth over Strong Bad's towering voice. Listen to the sample and see for yourself! Everybody To The Limit (Live): 10/10 Everybody's favorite little wrestle-man singing live with a funk feel! What could be better? This is another great track you should listen to! Thank you for reading my review. I hoped It helped. Despite the bad songs, there are still some great tracks on here that are worth buying!

any fan of homestarrunner.com should definetaly buy this. Others... stay clear, if you don't know the characters and storys you won't be able to apprecitate it and find it very very annoying. Now back to the good stuff, listen to it the whole way through and you'll find yourself laughing. Hard. I love the secret track with homestar singing 'secret song'. You'll find 'The system is down' from the 'techno' email. At the end he starts coughing and says 'sorry i really can't keep that up for very long... ummm... roll the tape back I wanna do more of those doobiedoobiedoos' lol. You have to buy this if you are a fan... period.
The paper, please take us away BWEEEEEEEEEEEEER
