5.0 out of 5 stars Brit is RED HOT!
Having been a closet Britney fan for some time I was so excited when I saw that she was ready to release mixes of her best single(and song)yet. I don't care what anyone says-Brit is so great. The album version of "Stronger" is totally great...and baby the remixes are amazing. The Jack D. Elliot mix is the best the single has to offer-I can just imagine a club...

1.0 out of 5 stars I hope I don't hear this again!
Don't get me wrong, I used to think Brit was great when she first came out and yes, I did own both of her CD's and all..but this song..it gets really annoying really fast and her voice is whiny sounding and it drives me crazy.I don't know how anyone can stand listening to this or any of her other songs..as far as I'm concerned, her songs all sound the same. I would...

The album version of "Stronger" is totally great...and baby the remixes are amazing. The Jack D. Elliot mix is the best the single has to offer-I can just imagine a club full of sweaty bodies grinding to this track. When it comes on they all scream! Brit's breathing at the beginning is so Madonna(Madonna would be proud). THe Mac Quayle mix is pretty good too, the only real clunker is the final mix by Pimp Juice-it lacks any flair. Now my suggestion is to buy this little digital gem, crank up the volume and have a Britney inspired dance party!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, truly the best!, December 13, 2000
This review is from: Stronger (Audio CD)
What's up y'all!! I'm a huge Britney fan, and i just got the Stronger: The Remixes CD today! It's the best! If you got the Oops!...I Did It Again Remixes (Import) and u were dissapointed, then don't hesitate to get this one b/c it's way better!! Plus it's only like $7 or something. The Best REMIX on the Cd is definitely #5, the Jack D. Elliot Remix. Here are the tracklistings to help ya out a bit.

1) Album Version - you know this one 2) Mac Quayle Club Mix - LONG! (almost 8 minutes) Good though 3) Pablo La Rosa's Tranceformation - another long, yet good mix 4) Miguel 'Migs' Vocal Mix - slow and sultry, unique mix 5) Jack D. Elliot Club Mix - ONCE AGAIN, the Best! Gets ya dancin 6) Pimp Juice's "ANSITVMG" Mix - kind of hip-hop beat, yet dance and the 2nd best on the CD, behind the JD.E one!

Well there ya go, I hope i've helped u and go out and get this b/c it's the best she's done!! She needs to have another number one single people! :) Have fun guys, and happy holidays! :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Trance vs. Britney, March 1, 2001
This review is from: Stronger (Audio CD)
Trance is apparently the new flavor of pop music today. If you need any proof, just read on.

The first song on this CD is the album version, not bad, but not the real reason to buy the maxi-single.

Coming up second is the Mac Quayle Club mix, sort of a slower trance remix of the song. It follows the verse chorus verse rule of pop music, for the most part, but provides an interesting departure from the original. Pretty good.

Third is the Tranceformation mix, which is upbeat but sounds like someone trying to imitate Alice Deejay. A little too happycore for my tastes. An OK remix though.

Then comes the Miguel "Migs" Vocal Mix. Slow and R&B flavored, it reminds me a little of the 80s. A good remix to chill to, but things pick up a lot on the next track.

So here we come to the Jack D. Elliot Club mix, which starts out with a very sinister bassline and backwards masked vocal samples. Sort of a hard trance for beginners. It progresses to a more upbeat feel in the middle, and returns to the dark, foreboding trance that it started out with. The song is thoroughly deconstructed and this remix is the best one available on this CD.

Finally, there's Pimp Juice's "Ain't No Shame in this Vocal Mix Game" Mix. A somewhat bizarre moniker, don't you agree? Whatever the name, this guy likes house music, but his remix is very repetitive and dull. Good house music this is not.

So there you have it, spend the extra couple of dollars and get a few really good trance remixes. It's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Britney Spears definitely proves she is Stronger!, December 15, 2000

I love the energy in Britney's single "Stronger." It has wonderful energy. I love the beats in this song it certainly gets your attention. It's a wonderful song to dance to!! It's a cool song that makes you stand up proud and say, " Hey, I'm Stronger!"

It's great that Britney Spears as an artist is providing a wonderful message to young women to be strong and independent. That's the theme these days with a similar single by Destiny's Child "Independent Women, Part I."

I look forward to Britney Spears hosting the American Music Awards in January 2001. I've enjoyed her as an artist and a performer. She's pretty cool.

I recommend getting Britney Spears, "Stronger" if you like strong pop, radio-friendly music.

"Stronger" by Britney Spears receives a Kenny rating of A.

This new track from Britney Spears is not too bad. I must admit though that the remixes make the song more happening. The most notable remix on this single would have to be the Mac Quayle Club Mix. Very similar to the remix stylings of Hex Hector and why not, he's the second half of HQ2. Well anyway, it's a good remix and I recommend this single to all club fanatics.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love "Walk On By" and "Stronger"!, March 6, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Stronger / Walk on By (Audio CD)
I Really thought "Walk On By" should've been on either "Oops...I Did It Again" or (my preference) "Britney." I can understand why they might not have wanted this on "Oops..." because it is similar to "Sometimes" From "Baby One More Time", her debut album. "Stronger" was my favorite single from the great "Oops I Did It Again." I love the "year ago, year ago, year ago" part and the video is like all Brit videos amazing. I can't believe someone said Britney can't sing! Just because she lip synchs a lot in her dance routines (like Janet Jackson) doesn't mean she can't sing. She sings some of the ad libs and of course ballads live. Anyways, I really reccomend this single to ANY Britney fan because of the great bonus track "Walk On By" which really should have been on the "Britney" album. I can really relate to the lyrics. Great CD-single!

5.0 out of 5 stars Stronger - Britney at her most catchy and angry!, December 15, 2002
By
Busy Body (London, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stronger / Walk on By (Audio CD)
Stronger was the third single to be taken from Britney Spears' No.1 multi-million selling second album Oops!..I Did It Again. Released in December 2000, Stronger peaked at an underrated No.7 in the UK - possibly through little promotion and/or heavy competition in the singles chart from other acts. Stronger is a perfect example of a Britney pop hit. Written and produced by pop-wizard Max Martin, the song screams "HIT!" And it was; the song topped charts the world over and is one of Britney's biggest hits to date.

Stronger begins with a brilliant beat and a heavy bassline as Britney breaks out into the song. Her voice has obviously been tampered with, especially on the bits where she goes, "Baby!" The verses are a bit quiet, before building up in the bridge and letting loose in the chorus - where Britney juts lets it go and sings her heart out about how this guy left her for another woman. "Stronger than yesterday, now it's nothing but my way," sings a confident Britney. After the second chorus, there's a bit where Britney goes, "Here I go on my own, I don't need nobody - better off alone," in superb fashion. The song dips, as if sinking under water before re-surfing for the final chorus. This is what makes the song so brilliant and downright catchy for me. The video to Stronger is brilliant as well - one of Britney's best videos. It begins when Britney's finds her ex-boyfriend with another woman. Britney's just like, "whatever" before walking off in true girl-power fashion and telling him where to go. She drives around in cars, runs across bridges in the middle of the night in a storm and dances around on a chair and turning it into a walking stick! As usual with Britney's singles, the extra tracks are amazing. Track 2 is a bonus track called Walk On By. Deemed not good enough for the Oops!...I Did It Again album, it was simply put on the Stronger single as a bonus track. Well after listening to Walk On By, I can definitely say that Walk On By should've been on the album! This song is so amazing! Basically, this song is a mid-tempo pop ballad in which Britney moans over a guy about how he never notices her. Track 3 is Stronger (WIP Remix). This brilliant remix clocks in at almost 6 minutes of pure Britney dance fun! This remix is not Britney's best, but has some excellent and diverse sounds. Stronger is an absolute must for all Britney's fans - take it from me and buy all Britney's CD singles, because the remixes and bonus tracks are absolutely excellent. Buy Stronger from Amazon.com now!

5.0 out of 5 stars She's Stronger!, November 3, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Stronger / Walk on By (Audio CD)
Despite Britney recieving a no. 7 UK charting and her first non-top 5 hit in the UK this is one of her strongest tracks to date. Up to par with "Crazy" which reached no. 5 it is strong, danceable, has a great beat, awesome lyrics, wicked vocals, and is very catchy. Here's my track-by-track review of "Stronger (CD SINGLE)"

1. Stronger (Album Version) (10/10)
One of my favourite tracks of hers to date. Her Max Martin & Rami make this a Britney Spears classic. You've seen the awesome video on MTV and MuchMusic which features a hot chair-dancing routine like in a few older videos of other artists.

2. Walk On By (8.5/10)
It was rumoured for the album and true! "Walk On By" is a great ballad and should have been recieved by fans on her album Diamond sophmore effort "Oops!...I Did It Again".

3. Stronger (Work In Progress Remix) (10/10)
A great remix!

5.0 out of 5 stars Britney at her best., March 4, 2001
This review is from: Stronger (Audio CD)
When i first heard the song in the album i thought it would make a great single and i've been waiting for it during 9 month. And now here it is. I am not disapointed at all, it's the best remixes she's ever done. First Mac Qualye, one of the best remixers gives an incredible fast one, maybe the best dancing. Then comes Miguel "Miggs" which is a very famous and sharpest DJ which gives an interesting version; not too commercial but very original. Jack D. Eliott (Britney's usual remixer) does know her style perfectly and reaches the song to a climax.

The other ones are less interesting but worth listening. A must have.
