Nice to have new stuff from Mike Morgan and Lee McBee, but..., March 21, 2008

I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed. I am a big fan, and I own most of Mike's stuff with Lee McBee on vocals. Together they are magic. And on the 3 cuts that Lee McBee appears on this disc, the magic is there again. But unfortunately, those are the only cuts Lee appears on. The balance has some decent songs (great cover of the Hollywood Fats classic Okie Dokie Stomp), but there are a number of songs that I felt were average at best. This one is only for the die-hard fan. Do yourself a favor and pick up Mike's older stuff like "I Like the Way You Work It" or "Raw and Ready". Even better, get ahold of Lee's first solo album "44". Those will NOT disappoint. This one did--if only because I know how good Mike Morgan and the Crawl (featuring Lee McBee) can be.
