Great stuff!, September 15, 2001
A sophomore album is sometimes the hardest for an artist. It can either make or break that artist. For instance, if an artist had a very successful debut album, and their sophomore album wasn't near the quality, the artist could disappear from the music scene all together. However, if the artist has a so-so debut and releases and spectacular sophomore album, the artist could be the biggest in the industry. Now lets take a look at Natalie Grant. Claimed to be the next big Christian Diva, Grant's debut album came out to decent critic reviews and even lack-luster sales. Now, with a new label and a new outlook on ministry and her place in the industry, Grant comes back with a sophomore album that should solidify herself as one of the top females in the industry. This album starts off with two radio-friendly pop tunes, "What Other Man" and "Keep On Shining". Natalie really knows how to sing a pop song and really shows off on these and others like "Anything" and "Don't Wanna Make a Move". However, Grant TRULY shows off her stellar voice on the big ballads, such as "If This World Lost All It's Love", "I Love to Praise" and "Only You". Grant teams up with none other than New Artist of the Year, Plus One, for one of the albums highlights, "Whenever You Need Somebody". Other great songs are the Cindy Morgan-penned lyric "Finally Home" and "Such a Wonder" (which has to show how much Grant is stretching as both an artist and a vocalist). Grant truly is one of those underrated artists in the industry and definetly deserves the title of "Christian Music's Best Kept Secret".

stellar voice, catchy tunes, good, solid Christian pop album, July 12, 2001
I was extremely hesitant about buying this album. I liked the hit single "Keep on Shining" but I did not know any thing else about Natalie or "Stronger". Well, obviously, I went ahead and bought it and I was not disappointed. So, let's evaluate. Natalie is not a studio prop. This is definitely a great voice this lady has. Her control, clarity, and talent are evident. However, the Mariah-esque runs and octave changes were just not made made for Natalie and get a little redundant. Still, even these are remarkably well done. The tunes are catchy, at turns danceable and soaring, punchy, and smooth. Some well crafted ones, and Natalie writes and co-writes several. Of course,"Keep on Shining" is my favorite, but "Whenever You Need Somebody"(featuring Plus One) and "Anything" are close seconds. Stylistically: wide range of styles from teen-pop "Anything" and "Don't Wanna Make a Move" to worship anthem "I Love to Praise" to stirring heart-stoppers like "Finally Home" All in all, a good album with it's successes and failures combined. I recommend it!

Among the Best of Christian Music, August 13, 2004
This album is very special to me because the music is inspiring and encourages me when I'm feeling down. I received this album as a gift from a friend of mine a few years ago. I am thankful she introduced me to Natalie Grant's music.
Here are my thoughts on each song and what the lyrics mean to me:
"What Other Man" - This song encourages me when I'm feeling blue about being single. In God I find everything I need. I know God has a special man he will bring into my life when the time is right, but for now I am satisfied because God really is the only "man" who can give me everything I need.
"Keep On Shining" - I feel encouraged when I listen to this song because it tells me that I can make it through anything, and God will always be there. He wants me to keep on shining for Him.
"Whenever You Need Somebody" - This is a beautiful song about true friendship. It reminds me of a few of my friends whenever I hear it.
"Anything" - God gives me the strength I need to do what is right and believe in myself. My ambition is to serve Him, and I believe that He will help me find my purpose in life.
"If the World Lost All its Love" - I sincerely believe that God's love is what keeps this universe together. The world could lose all its love, but God's love will never, ever go away no matter what. And that is such a comfort.
"Such a Wonder" - It amazes me that God would choose to walk on this earth with us and die the most horrible death invented by man so that we can spend forever with Him. I don't fully understand how He could love me that much when I am far from deserving. It is such a wonder.
"I Love to Praise" - I love to praise God. This song expresses a deep desire within me to continually praise Him.
"Only You" - Only God can do all of these things for me and everyone else.
"Don't Wanna Make a Move" - I try to live my life so that I don't make a move or do something without consulting God first. Of course I continually make mistakes and forget to ask Him, but whenever I do, He always leads me in the right direction. For that I am thankful.
"To Find My Strength" - My strength comes only from God. I am very weak and always unsure about what to do, but whenever I rely on God's strength, He fills me up with whatever I need to make it through a circumstance or achieve what I am working hard for.
"Finally Home" - I can't wait until heaven! I can't wait to run into my Father's arms! Our time on earth is short and when it's all over, I want to hear God say, "Well done, good and faithful servant." In comparison to eternity, our time on earth is the blink of an eye. How exciting to think about what God has planned for eternity! That is what I long for.
I hope you enjoy the music like I do. I met Natalie Grant about a year ago at a concert. She is a wonderful, inspiring person and is one of the most talented and beautiful singers in all of Christian music.
Please give this CD a try. The music is uplifting and very calming.
