5.0 out of 5 stars Only Concordance Needed!
If you are a fan of the NIV Bible then this is the best book to have along with it. This exhaustive concordance has everything you need to study the words in the NIV bible. It includes the Hebrew and Greek dictionaries. This is a must have book for your bible study needs!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource Book
This book has so much information but I didn't find it easy to use. An experienced Concordance user would find this book very useful, but it is not recommended for the beginner without someone to help navigate through it.

The Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek dictionaries are done very well, compared to the old Strong's Concordance I have.

I bought this Concordance because a friend of mine recommended it to me, and it was a great price here on Amazon. I don't particularly like the NIV, but I don't dislike it either, and I have an NIV on hand for comparison anyway. Actually the more I use it to reference to use this Concordance, the more I like it.

The Concordance itself is actually not that hard to use. Other users are saying it's not for beginners, and etc. But, I'm a beginner; I'm not a bible student by any means; I just wanted something to really get the meaning of what the text is saying.

The referencing system goes like this: In there back there are two indexes, a Hebrew and an Greek. The Hebrew numbers are for the Old Testament, the Greek are for the New Testament.

If you look up a word, say, "FEAR", the first entry for FEAR says this:

-FEAR (260)[Afraid, Feared, Fearful, Fearfully, Fearing, Fearlessly, Fears, Fearsome, Fright, Frighten, Frightened, Frightening, God-Fearing]-
-Ge 9:2 The f and dread of you will fall upon you all 4616

The (260) tells you how many times the word FEAR appears in the NIV text.

The words in the brackets tells you related words. If you can't find the verse in FEAR, it might be under Afraid, Fearful, Fearfully, etc etc

Then it give you a list of (260) verses where FEAR is used, and the first one is Genesis 9:2. They abbreviate the word FEAR with 'f.'

The number at the end, 4616, is the index number to look up in the back of the book, to get the specific meaning of the Hebrew word translators used and translated into 'FEAR.'

The power of this is, different usages of the word 'FEAR' can be different words in Hebrew, with different meanings, but the English translators put them all to mean our single-meaning, English "fear."

Some entries will have more than one reference number, such as:
-1Sa 28:20 filled with f because of Samuel's words. 3707+4394

So you look up 3707, and 4394, to get the combined meaning of the what English translators made into 'fear.'

Very powerful tool.

Overall, very happy with using it! Definitely adds a depth to any kind of study or even casual reading of the Bible.

If you want to get serious about bible study, this is highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for NIV Bible Studying, August 3, 2011
This review is from: The Strongest NIV Exhaustive Concordance (Strongest Strong's) (Hardcover)
I stumbled upon this book a while ago and was advised to get the Mounces Complete Expository Dictionary and have used it daily since. I am able to dig deeper into God's Word by looking up what each word means and have greatly improved my understanding and reverence for the Word of God. God is a wordsmith and wants us to know Him on a deeper level and this is an essential tool in doing so if you are an NIV lover like I am.
