4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Castle Siege Game, August 2, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Stronghold (CD-ROM)
I enjoyed playing this game as teen. Game revolves around you defending your castles against besiegers but also managing your castle's economy. As the game progress you begin to besiege castles as well. Once you beat the military campaign there are few economic missions revolving around rebuilding the kingdom. The game also features a few scenarios involving either military or economic goals. In addition to the scenarios the game also features a free build so that you can build the castle of your dreams.

The gameplay is enjoyable and the scenarios and free build add longevity to the game. The graphics are good for the when the game was released.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game, December 31, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

Stronghold came out a few years ago, do not let that put you off.

Set in medieval England, this is a simulation game that allows you to fight campaigns, enjoy peaceful campaigns, and even build your own campaigns.

There is enough to this game to keep you busy for years. It is suitable for kids around 10 years old through to adults. We own stronghold 2 as well, and also stronghold crusader. If you are looking for a fantastic game or a fantastic present for someone, I recommend Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader. Because these games are older you should be able to pick them up at a good price.

Basically it is a simulation game where you have to manage the economics of your kingdom. Factories need to be built, farms created and your kingdom has to be protected. It is a great game and after having the game for 5 years we still enjoy playing it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stronghold worth every penny, August 24, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Stronghold (CD-ROM)
Stronghold is complicated but you will figure it out. It's good if you can read well. The graphics are okay and they are similar to the Baulders Gate game if you have ever seen it. Stronghold is more of a strategy game. It's worth every penny because I find myself wanting to go back and play it for hours. This is a fun game!

This is a really great game. It offers several levels, from "Easy" to "Very Hard". You can defend your castle or lead your army to attack an evil king and his castle in another land. Be careful because this game can be very addictive and once you begin playing, you may not want to stop. Stronghold will give the player many hours of entertainment. I am 70 years old and play it often. My 7 year old grandson plays it too. We both love this game and find it challenges our minds and sharpens our skills. You can build your own castle and town or use existing kingdoms. I love this game!

5.0 out of 5 stars Gret Game worth many, May 1, 2008

This game though released in 2001, and a lot has changed in computer industry, still this game is definitely one of my most favorite, and I always come back to play it. You can build castles, command armies, fee as a Lord in the castle. There is enough humor in it which will greatly lift up your mood, besides AI is not stupid at all. Yes, the graphics are in 2D, but for me personally graphics is not the most important thing, the soul and the wholeness of the game is important. I greatly recommend it! Enjoy!
