Book Description

Structural Analysis teaches students the basic principles of structural analysis using the classical approach. The chapters are presented in a logical order, moving from an introduction of the topic to an analysis of statically determinate beams, trusses and rigid frames, to the analysis of statistically indeterminate structures. The text includes solved problems to help illustrate the fundamental concepts. Access to interactive software for analyzing plane framed structures is available for download via the texts online companion site. See the Features tab for more info on this software.

Editorial Reviews

Kassimali has done a very good job with the illustrations. Inclusion of actual engineering structures to show what the mathematical models represent is excellent. - Professor George E. Blandford, University of Kentucky

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Structural Book Reference February 15, 2008
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
This book was required for my Adv. Indeterminate Structures course. Does a good job with material. My only thing is that I do not like it when very complicated problems say "and solving gives you" and has the answer. I like to see the "and solving" worked out... especially when it's double integral, differentials, etc. It would help refresh my memory from way back in the math courses.

This is by far the best book on classical methods for structural analysis I've ever seen.
Inspite of being lack in parts of matrix structural analysis, - but matrix parts can be covered by matrix analysis of structures 2nd, ed. written by the same author and is very good book as well. - very detailed explanation in all the chapters present made me happy(As I sometimes have difficlult time in studying the subject.).
Highly recommend.

- an Korean student majoring in civil engineering
