buried pipe design,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Structural Mechanics of Buried Pipes (Hardcover)
I bought this book together with "Buried pipe design - 3rd edition". I am really satisfied also because the two books are complementary and I can say that any engineer involved into the matter should have theese in his technical professional library.
Furthermore I suggest the engineer to provide for some more book related to the matter of buried pipes : -"Structural analysis of buried pipes" - Hornung/Kittel - Bauverlag editor (bilingual german/english) ISBN 3-7625-2039-9 -"Concrete pipe - design manual" _ American concrete pipe Association ISBN 0-9603868-5-8 -"AWWA Manual M9" Best Regards

THE bible of buried pipe engineering,

This review is from: Structural Mechanics of Buried Pipes (Hardcover)
This is without a doubt the best book on the structural mechanics of buried pipeline systems. Both authors are considered world authorities on buried pipe design. Dr. Reynold Watkins, Professor Emeritus in the Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State University, studied under the legendary Dr. Marlin Spangler and has made significant original contributions to the field; engineers throughout the world make use of Dr. Watkins' work in their pipeline designs. Dr. Anderson is Dept. Head of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Utah State. Together they have written the most comprehensive book on the structural aspects of buried pipe design. They leave no topic uncovered, and reinforce all theories with easy to understand examples.
No municipal (or other) pipeline design engineer should be without a copy of this book!

So-So,
This review is from: Structural Mechanics of Buried Pipes (Hardcover)
Structural Mechanics of Burried Pipes is nothing to hang your hat on. I learned so much more from the dry reading of "Handbook of Steel Drainage & Highway Construction Products"...and this was written back when sideburns and 8 track were "in". The font in this book is so big it only takes a page or two to realize the entire book could be reduced to 50 pages rather than 440+. I wish i could get my money back.
