4.0 out of 5 stars Urban Interface, May 29, 2009
This review is from: Structure Protection in the I-Zone: Focusing Your Wildland Experience for the Urban Interface (Paperback)
I wanted to know how a high volume dept would put together structure skills and wild land skills that went beyond NWCG Wild land Fire Suppression Tactics Reference Guide. This book combined many of the tactics in the reference guide and added many Firefight 1 and 2 skills along with some fire ground learned lessons. I-Zone also conveys some well overlooked points that you may do on size up without realizing so you tend to overlook them when working with the new rookie. My first dept was a rural dept with high volume structure and wild land fires they have a heavy emphasis on red card certification and I would recommend this book to anyone. Well written and to the point. Let's you learn from some one else's mistakes. My biggest complaint would be the photos really should be in color.
