I will never sell this book.,

This review is from: Structure & Surprise: Engaging Poetic Turns (Perfect Paperback)
It's my last semester of college, and this book has finally convinced me that poetry is worthwhile. I have hated poetry throughout my entire experience as an English major, preferring instead to read novels. I always thought poetry was too much work; in most of my classes, I had to dissect poetry according to meter and rhythm and other meaningless attributes. Structure and Surprise is the textbook I'm reading for an Intro to Creative Writing class, and its perspective has given me an entirely different way of understanding poetry. The essays arrange poems not by era or rhyme patterns, but by the methods of creating meaning employed by the poets.
I definitely will keep this book and carry it with me to grad school.

I ordered the book Structure and Surprise because I am taking a workshop next month on structuring poetry. This book has all the info I need to study ahead of time and be prepared. It was shipped to me in a very timely manner, meeting all my expectations and needs. I am quite pleased with it.
