5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, December 20, 1999
By Ben McDermott (Fort Erie Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
Who would have thought that a movie about a little mouse could lead to the best song of 1999. Well Stuart Little has just that. While the soundtrack all around isn't exceptional, one song stands out as being one of the most prolific and dynamic ballads this listener has ever heard. "Your Where I Belong" performed by Trisha Yearwood is amazing. The song has it all. From a unforgettable, enchanting melody, to a strong yet heartfelt lyric, this track is simply moving. Trisha Yearwood has always been one of those singers who can bring out the emotion of a song and this is no different. She is able to deliver a compelling performance without going too far. The production on this song is just right. It is grand, but not over the top. Producer Keith Thomas wisely allows Trisha's voice to carry the song to it's breathtaking climax. Only one songwriter could be credited for such an wondrous track. Her name is Diane Warren. The songwriter of the decade just keeps getting better with her melody's and lyrics as this is even better then her previous opus "How Do I Live", "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" and even "Because You Loved Me". This album is worth buying just for this gem which is by my standards the best song of 1999 and a sure hit if radio programmers still remember excellence when they hear it. Besides this track, the album does have other bright spots. Brian McKnight's "Home" is very personal and goes go great with the theme of the movie and Debelah Morgan remake of another Diane Warren hit "As Long As I Can Dream" is very memorable. Yet it's hard to listen to any other song on this album because after hearing "Your Where I Belong" once, you won't be able to get enough of it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great talents involved; uneven selection, December 16, 1999
By A Customer
Walking Tall, by Burt Bacharach and Tim Rice, is the class of the field. It is an unpretentious song, but it is very charming and soulful. I hope to see Lyle Lovett performing it at the Oscars ceremony. 1+1=2 is awfully catchy, and Diane Warren wrote two songs for the CD (3 and 11). The other songs are likely to be of interest only to the younger audience -- in this respect I Need To Know and A Mouse In The House have their appeal. Despite the elaborate production of Diane Warren's two songs, the Bacharach-Rice song sounds more mature (while remaining charming and captivating). Lyle, Trisha and Debelah do an excellent job performing their respective songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars A BIG SOUNDTRACK, for such a little mouse., January 12, 2000
By Kevin T. Rodriguez "The Movie Wizard.com Revi... (Citrus Heights, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This is my second favorite soundtrack of 1999 (First being "Pokemon: The First Movie"). All the songs were great. Except for "Mouse In The House" wich was a waste to even think of. It had all the songs from the movie, the 2 best scores, and some music inspired by the movie. A must get for any fan of the movie.
